my copy just turned up in the post even though it clearly said on the order email pre orders will NOT be sent out before day of official release and will take 5-7 days to arrive. I wonder if they sent it early due to the postal strike this week.

Well, I have been running the RC for a couple of months, so I'm not too worried about it arriving really. I would just like to stop running the "extend trial" command and have a legitimate licence.
As mentioned before, it is better than Vista for speed and compatibliity.

As an IT professional I know you should always do a clean install, but I really couldn't be arsed installing all my apps and settings. So I upgraded from Vista, it was flawless and took an hour. Everything works amazingly.

It was indeed a breeze to install, but I didn't think it was any worse than Vista was.
Running nicely on my PC and also dual booting alongside Mac OS X on my netbook

Yeah, it's on my Acer Aspire One (Intel). I've upgraded the RAM to 1.5Gb and installed 10.5.7 using iatkos v7i.
I installed Win7 first on one parition, then OS X afterwards on another. It dual boots using Chameleon. Just waiting for a my new mini PCI-e wireless card to get OS X online - the standard Atheros card is pretty hit and miss.
It's all new to me; but I fancied giving it a go to see if I could
It was pretty easy using iATKOS - so long as you select the right options upon install. I had one issue where Win7 wouldn't boot, but fixed it using diskpart pretty quickly.

Nice, i've got an acer aspire one as well and so has my eldest and he is always in the apple shop playing on the macs.
How much was it to upgrade the ram? Ours are both still on 1gb and I guess you need the extra for osx? Very tempted to give this a go as it would keep him happy for ages playing with osx on his netbook.

Mine only came with 512Mb so I bought a 1Gb chip from Crucial for £13.20 - may be a little cheaper now but you may well get away with 1Gb. The wireless card was £11 from eBay, although I've just sent one faulty one back for a refund.
I'm not sure if the trackpad gestures are all sorted yet and sleep mode doesn't work but it's being worked on all of the time so things are always getting fixed
It runs like a dream, so it's nice to use and learn a new (to me) OS.

The DW-1490 card works like a dream in OS X and Win7
At home it picked up an additional 5 wireless networks that I've never seen before, including BT Openzone - the nearest one I know of is probably over 1/2 to 3/4 mile away

The bloke I got it from is a new seller (only 23 feedback) and it looks like he doesn't have more - just a one off. There are plenty more on there though.
DW-1490,DW1490, Computing items at low prices on eBay.co.uk
The faulty one I sent back was from 'mirek999' - so you may want to avoid them. They're selling most of the eBay listed ones.
It worked with OS X straight out of the box. Win7 I needed to connect to the net with ethernet for it to work - maybe it updated the driver?

Cheers mate. Sat down to do this install this afternoon but didn't realise iatkos was a big download so sitting here waiting now - thought I had to use a normal osx disk so got hold of that for no reason as didn't know what iatkos was. Nothing like reading the instructions before sitting down to start eh

I thought all pre orders were only the N version?
) it had better turn up soon!
