In response to several email requests:
An Idiots guide on how to replace your ****!

#Go to Halfords & purchase your ****...£47.99
#Pull down the gear lever gaitor from the bottom of the OEM ****
#Unscrew the old **** & put somewhere safe for when you sell the car
#Unscrew the bottom alloy cover from your NEW **** and slide it down the shaft
#Select the correct size plastic sleeve and fit on end of shaft
#Screw all 3 little allen screws a couple of turns into the new ****, its easier to do this now than with the **** on the stick
#Push new **** over end of stick and make sure the "momo" logo is level
#Screw the allen screws into the **** in equal amounts so that the screws grip the shaft centrally
#Screw the alloy bottom cover on to the base of the **** to hide the screws
#Pull the gaitor back up
#If the gaitor wont stay up, try wrapping some black insulating tape around the shaft to increase the diameter, then pull the gaitor up
#Take a picture of the finished job and post it on Scoobynet so that others can tell you how good it looks and ask you where you got it from...

The whole process excluding the photo bit should take around 2-3mins, 5mins tops.
If its taking you longer than 5mins,STOP. You are obviously a muppet and should not be attempting any job on your car. Stick to what you know best, posting funny stuff in the muppet forum.

WRXBOB
Tried that but no where to screw grub srews into. Have taken it back for now for re-fund. My one was the MOMO Air Leather, looks same as photo but not alloy at bottom (to stop cold hands and give better grip). Instructions seem to be easy to follow but as I said no where to use srews. What did I do wrong???

P1
Did you ask them?
My **** wasn't on display(GEAR ****) They had the "lift reverse" type on display(which DOESN'T have the MOMO bottom bit), had to ask them for the one I got (they had 'em in stock round the back!)
The branch I used had a wide choice in stock.
Was tempted by the full leather one, but think my final choice was the best one.
Fitting instructions refer to the type I fitted.
Have also fitted the same one to my mates WRX, took me about 1 1/2 mins to fit his. Mine took 1min longer 'cos I didn't know how the gaitor/cover was held on at first(tight push fit over a lip on bottom of OEM ****)

Maxy, your point is what exactly?????

Tezza, Grub screws have pointed ends that "bite" into the gear shaft, don't actually go in anywhere.

I did not make a racist slur...

If you had a problem with it why didn't you email me and ask me to edit it, I would have.
Its tw@ts like you who make people into racists.

Get a life and stop being an A$$HOLE

If I call an english man a "Brit" is that also a racist slur?

According to UK and European law, it is NOT racist.

Some people might not like it, but it is NOT racist.

Keep on complaining if you want, but I'm not wasting any more of my time on this subject.

Goodbye.

Eh excuse me. Back to my **** please. Thank you.

Diablo yes get what you are saying no holes in gear stick shaft I mean in gear ****, WRXBOB's words were:

"Screw all 3 little allen screws a couple of turns into the new ****, its easier to do this now than with the **** on the stick"

Well mine does not have holes in the gear **** for me to screw into as per instructions in the box. If it did mine would also have been fitted in a couple of mins. Just wondered if all leather was different, but don't see why it should be. Maybe the one I got was duff.

Cheers Terry (the idiot?)

Red face

Sorry 2 hi-jack the thread here guys but Maxy WTF r u on about m8?
Can`t u read in context ?
Gotta say it m8 from all the meets I`ve stood and gassed with u I never had u down as a ****.
If u r offended by someones reference to food, then hey I`m sorry 2 say it bud but u really need 2 get a grip.
Sorry if u take this personal m8 but I for one am gettin jus a little miffed at people shouting racist at the slightest thing especially when read out of context

Come see me at KH next week (if u r still talkin 2 me & haven`t branded me a racist as well) so I can slap u some

(off soapbox & flamesuit on) and back to topic
BTW moderator keep up the good work & remember context before bowing to PC and like crap.

Hi Pete

I am a **** really, you just dont know me that well

Anyway, there was no reason for the word to be used. Is being PC not a good thing? Isnt it much better now that he has edited it? None of this is it racist or not? Imo, it could have all been avoided by the use of more appropriate wording.

my girlfriend (british) is more irate than i am ( i'm not too bothered , but i would like to put my point down)
if he finds it not racist he shouldn't edit it and wait for more people to have their opinion .

Hey big mouth,

Sounds like u could prob do with some slaps as well
BTW most appropriate user name.

FFS Get out in the real world a bit more u lot eh?
Lets b clear about it peebs I`m not condoning what Bob said,
but if the guy was prepared to apologised then thats the matter closed, full stop. Once something is said u cannot take it back.
Hell when anyone I know goes for a curry I know they are a bit more specific than "a take away" they specify the type using the slang term as per the Oxford dictionary as Bob did, in the event of it being a Chinese.
Furthermore wot u need to learn is once a point has been made it`s then time to backoff, otherwise you only serve to start boring people & getting up their nose.
Incidentally and just for information, I for one can`t stand
PC crap, IMHO the PC brigade are a waste of space and should all crawl back under the rocks they came from
Big Mouth you will also be aware (being oh so politically correct)that your post is nothing but a plethora of "racist" terms and if thats only your eleventh post I for one cannot see you being a member for long

Enjoy your stay

thought i would put my hat into to ring!
First of all i try to be aware of anything that can offend people racest comment or not.
If a term offends then i will drop it!
I have used this term in reference to a type of food as in chippy .
Thanks for pointing it out that it can be seen as a racest coment and i will never use it again
As with bob ( asuming feels the same) you can use a phrase if you r not aware that it offends , this phase obviously does and now after a bit thought i can see why .
People can make stupid thoughtless comments,( i have) but labling them is not the answer ( education)

Big mouth
Most poeple r aware of most words and repeating them on the bbs is very risky . Watch it!!!

HOPE THIS IS TAKEN FOR WHAT IT IS, I HAVE WORKED HARD TO FIGHT RACIST BEHAVIOUR ALL MY LIFE.

steve

Exclamation

This is getting WAY OUT OF HAND!!!!!!

The reason why I originally edited the post, was because I had received a complaint by a member of the community, who was infact chinese.

My thoughts and views are irrelevant here, but if a person finds a comment offensive (with it being quite obvious why), than that comment is edited.

I appreciate the context that the comment was made in, but neither the less it was still a word that can upset people. I can also appreciate that the poster of the commment, never meant it in a malice way.

Can I make it quite clear, that scoobynet does not condone ANY KIND/FORM of rasism.

Regards,
Shaun.

Hiya Harry,

Not posing with the oakley's, with all the sun we've been having "OOP NORF" I can't drive without them, the low winter sun is blinding.
The heater was to keep the chinese take-away warm on the way home...don't like a cold chinese

WRXBOB - looks v.nice! What exactly is involved in swapping it for the OEM one, is it just unscrew one and screw another on?

The subaru one looks identical bar the MOMO inscription at the bottom of the aluminium bit on yours which does look better.
