Your having a nightmare mate! I can't believe they did that, its absolute provocation. How would they feel if they had provoked you into really opening her up on a twisty road and you lost it at a high speed into a family coming the other way!!! If you'd done something wrong they should have pulled you straight away, otherwise they should have left you well alone!!

Always seems to me that the police have got nothing better to do than jump out from behind trees and instantly solve a crime!

Thumbs up

Good luck,
Its a horrable feeling in it!I got done on the m62 3 years back 103 mph raceing an unmarked T5,gutted.Its so easy to do,a couple of mins of madness and a couple of months worrying while waiting for you court appearance.I too appointed a solicitor 80 quid for half an hour, but coz i was more than 30 mph over the limit i was up for a 3mnth ban.Ended up with 6 points and a 550 quid fine apparently the most they could do without banning me.

Sorry to hear about you misshap mate!
If nothing works in your defence, demand to see papars proving that the speed trap device was calibrated on the day. If these radar guns are not calibtated once a day the error in the speed reading can occur. If they fail to come up with a certificate they cannot prove that you were doing the speeds you were actually travelling at. The case should be trown out of court without this evidence. Videos dont stand up very well in court unless they are recording speeds of over 100 mph or dangerous driving.
The most that will happen to you if nothing works is 3 points and a £500 fine. Be sure to explain your case well and why you sped off.
Good luck and let us know what happend..

Regards

Gez

Next time your been followed at speed [within the limit of corse] by a police car, wait until he is on your back bumper pick your moment and pull over, and see if his brakes are as good as yours, looking in your rear view mirror as you do so. He will soon forget why he was following you, because he will be in a rush to get home and change his under pants. ;-} Good luck on Friday mate.
