We're lucky enough to have loads of space behind our house with some woods. I was thinking of setting up a longwire between a tree and the top of our foor for SWL.

This is a Muntjac, a cross breed from Chinese water deer. These originally started off in Bedfordshire (Wobern Abbey), and then became prolific through out the country. Just don't get me started on them, the laws an *** when it comes to these critters.

Les - we are on top of a ridge/hill - ideal for radio stuff!

Simon - looks too small. Think this was just a small deer.

Took a quick snap with my phone camera (through a window):

Yes you could get a lot of enjoyment out of that, long wires can really work well for listening. You might even hear me shouting at the world! My garden is pretty small and I have to make do as well as I can for a transmitting set up, at least like Matt I live on top of a hill so that helps. Mrs Leslie keeps wanting to grow creepers up my aerials!

Les - thanks. I have to admit that if we stay here for the rest of our lives, I will be very happy. Can't think of anywhere I'd rather be!

Quite easy when you spend alot of time outside (I used to be out virtually every day).

Roe is 1 of our 2 native species, and where theres 1 there are more. Females are herd animals.

Might be worth investing in a game camera and seeing what else is about.

Yes you are dead right of course.

I am really looking forward to the Goodwood Revival this year, they have got an all mini race and also its great to see them giving the Jaguars a hard time too.
