Lost - Final Episode Tonight !

I wouldn't read to much into it - best to wait and see where the hell it is actually going. Hopefully it will be more than a massive anti-climax!
The only question for me is did Juliette prevent 'the incident' or did she in fact make it happen or enhance it with the A bomb?

Yeah I read that Markus, Sobeth (i think.. ) but the Anubis (RA god of death and all that) makes more sense. God this story gets weirder by the minute, started off with a Polar bear... but I love it

By the sounds of it I'm glad I stopped watching after the polar bear appeared .
So it's turned into a load of old religious clap trap has it ?
************ Spoiler ***************
I bet Lord Lucan turns up with Madeleine McCann in the last ever episode.
Oh - and it's series NOT SEASON - we're in Engerland not the US of GB

What's the betting we get a ......"and then I woke up" ending .
This drives me mad, I enjoyed the first couple of series but as soon as they copped out with the whole time travel thing it went downhill. I hate the fact that I still want to see how it ends.
The whole thing reminds me of that film with Bale/Jackman - the Prestige I think it was called. I sat through what appeared to be a fascinating and well made historical piece only to find in the end that it was a science fiction film all along. The overwhelming feeling was that I had just wasted a couple of hours that I wasn't going to get back.
I suppose I can just turn it off but there is something that is stopping me................. feckin' TV!

Bale did have a twin, that wasn't the sci-fi bit though, it was Jackman's part that was sci-fi. Tesla's device created duplicate of an object a distance away from the original. Thus what would happen is that the original would drop into a tank under the stage where it would drown, and the duplicate would appear a distance away to continue things.

Best theory I found on the interweb:
The Egyptian theory, in detail:
It's all about Egyptian mythology.
The guy in black at the beginning was the Egyptian God of Evil, Apep.
Jacob is the Egyptian God, Set (or Seth).
Richard Alpert is Ra.
Horace was Horus.
The statue was Taweret.
Smokie (Cerebus) is a Djinn.
Set (Jacob) overthrew Apep (guy in black). Apep (guy in black) thinks people are bad and should all be wiped out. Set (Jacob) thinks people can be redeemed and should be spared. This whole thing was a test between the Gods to determine the fate of humanity. And I think they failed.
Jacob (Set) never was in the cabin. He was always in the shadow of the statue. Apep (guy in black) was trapped in the cabin. The Egyptian God Ash protected Set (Jacob) from Apep (guy in black). Apep (guy in black) couldn't leave the Ash ring, trapping him in the cabin. When the line was broken (Hurley broke it when he, Locke and Ben went to the cabin), he was freed to cause chaos. He tricked Ben into thinking he was Jacob and didn't let him see him to anger Ben enough to kill the real Jacob. Locke's dead, the zombie Locke is actually Apep (or maybe Smokie). As God of Evil, Apep (guy in black) controls Cerebus, not Jacob. Ben was in fact getting two opposing sets of orders. One from Jacob (via Ra) and one from Apep, via Smokie. So, he was in fact actually a patsy just like Locke.
Also, Set (Jacob) ruled part of Egpyt, while Horus (Horance) ruled the other half. Horus thought Set was evil and they had a war. Sound familiar?
So, while Locke and Ben were patsies for Apep (guy in black), Set (Jacob) countered by making Jack his patsy. He anticipated Apep's (guy in black) move and used Jack to "undo" it.
The bomb did change things. They cut an important scene in which Daniel compared time to a river. A small pebble thrown into it would not change the course of the river and it would correct itself. But a large boulder could make a big splash and alter the river. The bomb was to make a big splash. They should have left this in. The bomb changed things.
But, wiki Set and Apep. That's your story

Patsy = scapegoat. For example, it's alleged that Lee Harvey Oswlad was a patsy for CIA when they assassinated JFK

I wonder if Abrams will just create an alternate dimension and then tell us that nothing in the any of the previous series actually makes any difference....... then again, it looks like he's somewhat headed in that direction....again

Pontificating
I finally got to see the last episode last night.
I know JJ has said there is no alien element to it, but it got me thinking with the whole Egyptian thing, all the old stories about the pyramids being built by aliens, i.e. landing sites visible from space etc etc. There was a scene when they were in the statue and they was an opening that looked up to the stars and the moon, and Jacob said to fake John "they're coming"
Who ?
And yes I am still pretty confused but love it none the less, they could do another 7 series and I'd still watch it
