If they give you any grief mention that it is documented that they have allowed this for several other 2.5 STI customers including the Police. I wish I had done this at the time! Still got the crappy standard ones with the poorly designed piston skirt in mine

Also the standard one doens't move when the revs are below 3,500. Surely a remapped 400bhp one will be faster.

Gauge solution is sorted for mine, Prosport Premium 52mm fitted inside a single din pocket with slight modifications to the pocket & dash surround.

Phone call from Phil @ Subaru UK who was dealing with my case.
He said the exhaust must be either the standard STI or the Prodrive one to keep the warranty, anything else, even other Subaru (STI Genome) will simply void it.
So they have every right to stand by their decision that the warranty is void as mine isnt either of these.
HOWEVER, as a goodwill gesture, the fact I'm a loyal customer of theirs they will pay to get all works done to get me and my car back together again, including a courtesy car during the whole time my car is in for repair.
So to cap it I'm HAPPY

Out of interest, what did you do you rear lights with, was it the film (if so who from) as the red looks pretty dark, liking them a lot.

Great news mate, now badger them like hell to allow you to pay the extra and put the Cosworth forged pistons in the the new/replacement short engine while you have got the engine out (I know there are loads of other makes, but Subaru like Cosworth at the moment for obvious reasons).

The underspoiler has totally changed the look of the rear, the plastic rear exhaust surrounds that they come with make it look cheap IMHO. Have you removed these?
Very subtle and tasteful mods have completely transformed the car. The yellow fogs give a 'retro' look too.
Probably one of the most beautiful hatchbacks I have seen. Have you removed the Impreza badge from the rear or do they come like this?
Although not a fan of private lates I like this one!
Is it a JDM or EU model?

pistons 2 & 4 are obliterated but as I caught it in time the bores are not damaged.
been told all stuff is ordered and should be able to have it back by the w/e fingers crossed

I removed both the Impreza badge and the Subaru one (and replaced it with a little Litchfield logo)
they are just stuck on with d/sided foam tape.
i would suggest doing in on a wram day, the glue is easier to come off.
I have considered removing mine, paintign white and re-fitting but the plain look looks better

My mate has just got a new A4 Avant. His transport manager said it would look better de-badged, so he boiled a kettle, threw hot water over the badge and took em off!! Dont know if this is the correct way for removing badges but it worked.

On the badge front - boiling water isn't best practice for your paint. The hairdryer option is better.
Wash and dry the car (2BM of course)
Warm the badge up with the hairdryer and then tease them off (avoid prolonged heating)
Get some good tar and glue remover (Auto Glym) and dab on plenty with a microfibre cloth.
Once it's soaked in gently rub the residue away
Give the car a good wash
Claybar the whole panel they have been on (even better do your whole car)
Wash it again
Polish
Wax. Job done. Debadged and your car is all bufty
