I'm not sure i like the shark fin on a Subaru, with it being a road going version of a rally car i prefer the stock one which looks more in line with a rally car.

you could say not having a bonnet scoop also takes away from it being a road going rally car

Car styling is a personal thing, i was just saying that personally i prefer the stock aerial, it doesn't mean id be in a majority by liking the stock one. It's like with the bonnet scoop, i had a FMIC on my UK Sti so in theory i didn't need the bonnet scoop, i chose to keep it but use a blanking plate instead, again thats a personal choice as the bonnet scoop is iconic on a Subaru not that it's serving any purpose after you've gone with a FMIC.

Air con problem here.
2009 Sti 330S.

Seems only the right hand side dash vent ( under head unit ) blows hot air, LHS dash vent is cold, side vents and foot vents blow cold. All vents blow, fan works, it comes in and out etc. o generally all working...
Air con was regassed 6 months ago and is still "full" , changed cabin pollen filter, even ran the diagnostics from below I found on here ( but as links have gone it's hard to see what has failed! )

https://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subar...008/index.html

The self diag mode works and shows flashes and no flashes, and from what I can guess there is some sensor or actuator failed.
Might be a sensor or actuator for air mode or something.

No nearby Subaru dealers now so a bit stuck!

Any help welcome, thanks in advance!

Due to Subaru's use of old "software technology" the link posted above will now only function correctly if opened in Microsoft Edge whilst running in " Internet Explorer mode."
You probably have a problem with the air mix actuator....

Cheers Don, that Subaru article was helpful shame I couldn't read it all. I can try it again in Edge as suggested.

Yes, I thought it was a divertor or mix actuator motor or actuator ... couldn't reach them from under dash / behind glove box.. if that's where they are!

Sounds like another self diag then probably off to the dealer!

Cheers

Yes mate I had the same issue a few months back, it was the tailgate boot switch that had gone & apparently it's a common issue. Here is a link to buy one (mine had a second button so just check the diagram.

Thanks Big Kev, that's really appreciated. My car is going into storage on monday for the winter, this would be an ideal time to do that switch with it being in a nice warm indoor storage facility so i'll get onto that and hopefully have it sorted if that part is the issue which it sounds like it could well be.

An update on the rear tailgate not locking on my Sti hatchback when all the other doors have locked.

This is weird, i was having a play around with the key fob and the central locking buttons inside the car seeing if i could do anything that made the tailgate stay locked after i've pressed the lock button on the keyfob where all the other doors have locked but not the tailgate. I had to go inside to do something so i locked the car and took the keyfob in with me, after around 10 minutes i came back out but didn't have the keyfob with me, i checked the doors and they were locked, i just thought i'd check the tailgate not expecting to to be locked but it was. I thought that's strange, so basically if the fob is anywhere near the car and you press lock all 4 doors lock but if the fob is still near the car you can open the tailgate, if you then lock the car and put the fob in the house out of the way the whole car is locked including the tailgate.

Also the same happens witrh the rubber button on the drivers door handle next to the lock, if the fob is near the car and you press that it unlocks the doors, but again if you lock the car and put the fob in the house away from the car you can't unlock the doors with that rubber button on the drivers door handle. Is this normal behaviour on the Sti hatch, its a 2008 JDM 20th Anniversary ?

"Keyless Access with pushbutton start",(as compared to Keyless Entry -with ignition key) standard operation as per 330s and MY11 saloon and hatch models and probably MY15 on WRX STI. (Yes it is)
You do know that if you have the fob in your pocket you can unlock the doors by putting your fingers in the front door lock handles as if to open them. (only from MY11)
As yours is JDM (single locking) all doors will open, UK models, (having double locking locks) the non opened front door and the rear doors will initially revert to single locked.

Update:
Attached is some of the "Keyless Access and push button start" info from the MY15 WRXSTI owners manual (Similar if not the same as earlier models)

Thanks Don, unfortunately my owners manual is in Japanese so i couldn't get any info from that. It's a setup i've not come cross before as my previous UK Sti hatch wasn't keyless, it was the press the lock on the fob twice to open all the doors incl tailgate. I'm not sure why they've done it this way as you can't leave your fob in the car as you need it to lock all the doors, unless it autocks after so long which i've not tested but i'd be surprised if it autolocks with the fob left inside the car. Who knows, it just ssems like they have over complicated something that doesn't need to be that way, i think i prefer the locking your car way like on most modern cars where you just press lock and its locked with the immobilser amd alarm activated. Thanks for the added info on the keyless

My apologies, from looking at the various model year wiring diagrams the door handle touch sensor was only added for MY11 onwards......

Hi again Don,
The other link worked in edge/IE mode, but the one with the in doc links https://www.scoobynet.com/attachment...0&d=1698387962 still doesn't have the test outcome links / descriptions working!

Tried again this week, all the blower modes seem to work, screen, side vents, foot vents, under head unit vents. ONLY right / driver side under head unit vent blows warm air, all others are cold. All blow colder air when set on cold!
Can't hear the motor sound / clicking I used to when starting / turning off the car...

I'll try again with the other paperwork - test - outcome tomorrow.

Thanks

This link is just a pdf file and the links do not work but is still relevant.
If you want the original open the complete manual link in edge/IE mode and then from the left hand "select a section" drop down list select "control systems" followed by
HVAC SYSTEM (AUTO A/C) (DIAGNOSTICS)
Diagnostic Chart for Self-Diagnosis
Operation

There are a number of other diagnostics that can be done from this HVAC SYSTEM (AUTO A/C) (DIAGNOSTICS) section
You may also find the main HVAC section useful.

The air mix actuator is on the RH side of the unit

I've got various interior trim parts here for an Sti hatch that's for sale if anyone needs any, i bought them for my UK Sti which i sold a while back. Everything was bought from Matt @ MB Developments.

Full set of door cards in nice condition including the silver electric door switches .... £375 for the full set
Full interior carpet, nice condition £110
Boot side panels that have the lights in £45 the pair
Boot plastic kick plate £25
The trim panel that wraps underneath your steering wheel with the electric mirror and folding mirror switches on to the right. £45
Engine under tray which is in really nice condition £110

Ive got other things here like an intake manifold which is in very good condition, the red crinkle paint is bright and great, ive got the TGV deletes which again are nin nice condition, i've probably got loads of other things which i'll add when i come across them. Ideally most would have to be collection only.

FAO Gambit.

Deapite (still) being unsure on the look i have invested in a Silver NA bonnet from the scrappy. This is mainly because the scoop is leaking with the otherone, maybe there is an aero benefit lol ?

Quation is, were you able to do the swap yourself or needed a hand with it?

EDIT : I managed to do it (ok the wife did help a bit )

M.

@Don Clark do you know if you can get an oe replacement sock filter for bottom of the pump? Can't seem to find a part number for it, and looks like part of actual pump 42022FG060 only?

I don't think Subaru has ever listed the sock filter as a separate item for any of its fuel pumps.

we have aftermarket versions of that half moon type filter if required - normally used on uprated pump kits
