Anybody in the market for new tyres? Just a heads up "mytyres" on ebay have reduced their tyres on multi buys by 8% coupled with ebays 20% "PLENTIFUL" code could save you some money. I just purchased x4 245/40/18 (individual) goodyear asymmetric 5's for £289 total.
Uniroyal RainSport 3
you don't need anything else.
tyre choices are subjective. 9 times out of 10 you'll never push a tyre hard enough on a road to say x is better than y - so a lot of peoples opinion is based on how a tyre feels rather than how it performs
for me now i just go by the wear, wet weather & noise ratings on them.
i just always aim for mid-level tyres upwards and stay away from the budget brands and always XL sidewall rated.
everybody harps on about it being the only thing between you and the road and to buy the best you can afford. the best isnt always the most expensive for based on the persons needs

What timing belt kit do you guys recommend? I was thinking of the cosworth belt with OEM tensioner and OEM water pump.
Who is the OEM manufacturer? For these bits?
This is for the work in progress CS400

My driver seat subframe has stopped moving backward or forward.
It's been into main dealer at last 2 services but they now say it's a failed bush or similar, so the pin that holds the seat rail to the floor rail does no longer move up and down with the adjustment bar so the pin is not released.
I asked to quote for a new subframe and they came back with £1200 + vat and labour!
Is that a whole seat!!!!
I had a warranty replacement ( so a few years ago now ) and the garage said it was about £300 for a seat subframe.
Does anyone have the correct name / part number ( Hi Don!
) for the drivers side seat subframe.
It's a 2009 330S with the recaro seats.
Cheers

"The most popular timing belt kit we offer is the RCM variant which comes with a Dayco branded belt and is £150inc./delivered to std UK postcodes, we can also offer this kit with a Gates branded belt for an additional £27inc. and then we also offer uprated Gates Racing Kevlar belts for more extreme use.........."
So Contact Alyn if that's of use.
Mine is due in 10,000 miles so I asked what my forged build had in it, ASPerformance suggested -

What's the benefit of the updated part / later part number?
Dealer quoted me £1200 for it, hence why I asked ( thought it was the whole seat for that!!! ).
I'll have to talk to them and look at that other link you posted in case I can get it cheaper andfit!
Cheers and thanks again!

Just talked to Dealer, yep, they want around £870 for the subframe assay, plus vat and fitting..... so I think I'll leave it.
It's not as though it gets moved often as no one else is insured to drive it, it's just the MOT and service people really!

Why don’t you give Capital Seating in Leicester a buzz? They are the UK Recaro service centre. They may be able to fix the existing base for you
Thanks Don, that's the part I meant, the seat subframe with slide adjusters. The pic is of left hand drive car - my adjusters are by drivers door / RHS of seat, but otherwise looks the same.

It's just an updated part number when something has slightly changed , manufacturer; supplier, modification to spec, etc..
The rubber/foam cushions 96085FG000 that are fitted between the rear hatch door spoiler and the tailgate's glass had perished (one of them was hanging) and I bought replacement ones (I had to import them from US as I could not source them from the local dealer).
I just pulled the old ones out with a flat screwdriver but the new ones have a sticky back.
Do you know if the spoiler is meant to be detached from the tailgate to fit them or should i try and fit them with it in situ?
I hope this solves the vibrations/plastic oscillation noises I have from the tailgate.
That's all the info i have managed to find so far:

fpan, a lot of hatch noises come from the internal wiring in the hatch door, take off the plastic trim and secure the plastic clips that route the wires, makes a big difference.

Thanks Matt, will do. I have had the back of the big plastic trim insulated which has helped but didn't take a look at the plastic clips. How do you secure them with hot glue?

wow thats crazy. OEM ones it is then!
