Hi guys, picked up a WRX-S a few weeks back as something a bit more sensible instead of using my Type R.
Been trying to do some digging lately on getting the steering feel like my STi Type R has. I notice Lichfield did offer a 'revalve' mod but as im at the other end of the country theres no way I'll be making that trip there. Has anyone had this done or know whats been done to get the better weighted steering feel that this revalve mod is supposed to provide ?
I bought a set of these from a member about 2 years ago and fitted them to my silver hatch. Can't say I noticed a lot of difference if any day to day but on a track might be different. I remember the back being more stiffly sprung though.
If it helps I then sold on my oe suspension to a wrx-s owner to recoup some of the costs.

yeah its defo the rear you feel the most difference and not as much lift/dive on the front.
When you say you sold them to a wrx-s owner, did that include the shocks? wasnt sure if 5x114 shocks would fit a 5x100 car simply based on the fact it couldnt be done on previous newage models
First subaru I've owned and a new member and hatch owner. Thought I'd drop a post here. Good to see people still love the hatches I know some don't like em. Had my wrxs 3 weeks and I'm loving it. Is there anything that is a must do with these cars. Got some visual bits in mind.
Doesn't sound like its failed more like its short of gas, Regas it and test it again.

Mine when the air con button is pressed makes a hissing noise from the compressor unit.
Any help appreciated
Does the A/C light flash at all on start up? If you go for a regas, get the valves checked as mine had failed. It was noticable that there was a hiss when the green cap was unscrewed as that, not the valve underneath, was holding the pressure in the system.

welcome to you too
yep speak to Rob84 and buy a clear FOG light cluster.. about £70
then go on ebay and buy a set of RED over lays from me
Cheers bud I'll take a look....do you know anyone in the Essex area though who may be able to do it for me ? I could probably do it myself but rather a professional do it because it would probably look neater
didnt use water when fitting mine, or should i say the fella fitting them didnt. but it was easier as a 2 man job...he fitted/manipulated while i held the heat gun
aye only cost £25 to get mine fitted which was worth it to get it done properly rather than attempting it myself - ive a lack of patience with stuff like that and would have ended up ruining the overlays

That looks well, but i am biased :-)
Standard? or are there already some bits done?

Cheers in regards to the links etc for the headlight stuff, I'll get on that this weekend. They look so much better.
Car is the wrxS so has the prodrive pack on (exhaust, remap, sti splitter, rims) other than that I'm sure it's standard for that model. Anyone on here got the wrxS does anyone know?

Yes me :-)
Yours looks same as mine, standard from outside.
How about under bonnet? Exhaust? Suspension?

Heres mine:
Yea they look very similar. What exhaust is it your running? All standard under the bonnet wouldn't mind doing a few bits under there though. Exhaust is standard prodrive What's on yours under the hood? Hoses look good.
Mine is a bit of a Frankensteins monster!
Original engine suffered from the dreaded piston ringland failure. I bought it earlier this year knowing it was fitted with an ej20 STI engine. Spec is... AVCS, TGV delete inlet manifold, VF48 (Hatch STi) Turbo, Parallel fuel rails, Decat downpipe, Syvecs ECU, Exedy pink fast road clutch, Pro-R panel filter. Running approx 360bhp.
To be fitted this week, rad panel, Tufnell header tank spacers and an earthing kit. Next on list, RCM 70° thermostat.
Standard Prodrive rear box, so it's just a little too quiet for me, I'd like exhaust to be Milltek as I had that on my old blobeye wagon and it wasn't too much, ideally with just the Prodrive tailpipe so it still looks standard from outside.
Has anyone done front windscreen strip as wiper blades go all way up to top of screen :-/
