is it a straight replacement for the standard one mate or do they need adjusting ?

What would the max size of spacer be to fit on standard studs ? My wheels have no "pockets" on the back so the likes of 15mm ones are out of question.

 

I'm currently running 8mm on the fronts to clear callipers, wouldn't like to run much more really.

Got 15s to put on all round but haven't had the time or chance yet.

Why did you need to clear the calipers ? Do the 8mm ones still allow plenty of threads to hold the wheel on ?

 

False information when I bought the wheels second hand. Think the guy just wanted the sale to happen so agreed with all my questions

Would say I get just under half way up the threads inside nut. Will count how many full turns tomorrow

 

Cheers. The only type i can see online are the "universal" shims , the ones with not alot of material. I actually alreay have 2 in the garage from a previous car but they were a bit wobbly. That car had wheel bolts so was quite hard lining everything up so maybe with the scoob having studs it might be easier lining up.

 

Hubcentric spacers are the way to go as the bolt to the existing lugs and give you new ones to bold the wheel to so no worries about threads or lining anything up

 

Know the score mate but my wheels don't have any "pockets" in the back to allow for origional studs. Not keen on chopping the studs either so will probably just use 8mm ones.

Picked up a set of Cosworth Eibach/Bilsteins. Difference it makes to the handling of the car is night & day, so much more stiffly sprung especially the rear but no compromise on comfort (its a daily driver after all!) was originally running on prodrive springs and std sti shocks

there was a pair of fronts on ebay a while back that didnt sell. so i contacted the seller asking if he also had the rears, and he said he did but they where the original units whereas the fronts where new items in 2014. so we done a deal on the lot. once i got delivered i just gave the rears a quick wire brush and a rub with a dry cloth and they came up like new

Happy at that as im pretty certain my car was still on the original OE shocks ~ 95k mile on them!

 

Any part numbers on them dude?

 

Is there many options of a lower grill for the STI with fogs , other than Zunsport ?

 

The Eibach springs are their race series coilover springs

Front ERS 300 70 45, rated 257 lb/in
Rear ERS 300 70 55, rated 314 lb/in

Rear shocks have the following part number BTC - 0055 - 45/10
Front shocks have no part numbers.

Subaru dont list the parts either for them, they need to contact Cosworth for details. as i found out when trying to get the missing flexi bit for their exhaust system which i also picked up a while back

Does anyone now the best place for an air con pump for a 2008 sti Impreza hatch?

Mine when the air con button is pressed makes a hissing noise from the compressor unit.

Hi guys, picked up a WRX-S a few weeks back as something a bit more sensible instead of using my Type R.

Been trying to do some digging lately on getting the steering feel like my STi Type R has. I notice Lichfield did offer a 'revalve' mod but as im at the other end of the country theres no way I'll be making that trip there. Has anyone had this done or know whats been done to get the better weighted steering feel that this revalve mod is supposed to provide ?

 

Ive seen this question asked a few times but never seen the answer! Must be a closely guarded secret. Power station used to perform this but noticed the have shut down.

 

Try Curtis at AST, someone mentioned that he did it for them recently.

Yes, as above, it was me. Curtis helped put together the Litchfield package and now Litchfield have moved away from Subaru he can do any of the Litchfield handling packages for you.

I currently have my steering pump with Litchfields waiting to get revalved.
i posted it over from Ireland. I think they said it was £105 + vat. They used to do them on an exchange bases but haven't done any in a good while, so they have none on the shelf. they said they don't do too much with subaru's anymore, I hope to have it back at the end of the week.
I also have a typeR so i hope it has similar feel as that.
