On the topic of tyres, will 235 or 255 40 18 fit the 18 inch rim, as I want to keep as close as possible to the oem Bridgestone re 070`s, (245 40 18 ) and use Nankang ns2r ? Thanks

After 17s atm as temparys but plan to run uniroyals on the new 18s.

Had rainsport 2s on my last 3 previous cars and can't fault them in any weather, think I even managed to get 16k miles out a full set with only rotating at about 13k.

Cheers
Phil

Hello everyone, my name is Darren
I have been reading this massive thread for the past couple of weeks now, in anticipation of getting my own 59 plate WRX-S hatch in WRBlue. This will be my 3rd Impreza

I started with a DBM 97 Sport Wagon, I had that for 6.5yrs, then had aWRBlue 03 WRX Wagon for the next 7.5yrs, I modded this up to 330bhp plus Spec C springs/struts, uprated arbs/drop links and bushes as well as being a bit of a clean freak!

I should hopefully get the hatch this weekend
Already bought the red rear light overlays from a nice chap on that ebay, ha ha! CHEERS Salsa ;-)

1st Q of many:
The METAsat tracker, is that still active and is it worth it? (now where's that can of worms gif!)

Hi Darren.

Congrats on the new motor.

In answer to your question and the answe is only on where I live, history and what I've experienced.

Insurance companies are only interested in trackers now a days is if the vehicle is 18 months old or younger.

I've read several times that people's insurance quotes are less if they don't declare a tracker.

I haven't seen the option on comparison sites for years.

I'd keep with the limited edition.

Are you track daying your car?

performance is nothing in it, so why swap?

I'm sticking with mine for now lads couldn't choice between the 2, never even bothered to pursue anymore. Salsa your right the 20th is as rare as **** and Benji the colour is like marmite I suppose. I do love my car and as my Grandad used to say......"if in doubt do nought!" thanks lads

Open the passenger door and remove the "triangle" on the end of the dash (This just clips off). There is a screw to remove here and then you just prise the plastic trim off all the way to the radio. Don't be surprised if it makes a "cracking" sound.

Well after two years owning it, its up for sale as I fancy a 2 door classic and buy the wife something as this has also been her daily. I have to say I will miss it its been a 100% reliable daily and great fun on the weekend with the 405bhp. But I can't keep it pristine whilst it's also the family car so it has to go. 😢

Very nice in red, glws.
Many of us struggle with living day to day with our pride and joys; keep it and change your mindset, cos you will never find a family hatch to compete, or one that feels so safe in all weathers for your family !!

I can't, I hate seeing a dirty car or any blemishes to the paint, and as long as this is a family car it's impossible to maintain that standard. For instance I recently had the front end painted to remove the stone chips then a week later the wife catches the front bumper against the wall while pulling onto the drive, so back off to the paint shop it went. If I get her a dedicated family car she can do what she likes with it.

Did a little bit of digging on this and came up with deciding on Michelin Pilot SuperSports

The reason......

The reo70's were made for the Spec C / R205

The pilot sports were made for the S206 and now S207. They're the same size as well so must have been heavily tried and tested and during development. Finding them on caparison for about £115 a corner

Excellent. Thank you. The current re070`s have loads of tread, but are splitting between the treads; you are right, and they are only available in Japan, so I want to keep as close the them in spirit as possible
