Im going to ask the same question because I've been sat on the fence for a good while about wheels. Black, silver or stay gold?? I've been looking at xxr 527's or rota grid drifts or simply space this a little to fill the arch a bit more.
As for the wheels. Like you I have GT1's. I run a gunmetal set in the summer and a gold set in winter. On a black car (midnight blue in my case but unless I park next to a black car everyone thinks it's black) the gunmetal look a bit dull. I think dark colours would work well on a white car and probably blue as well.

I'm running Alcon 6pots on the front and Alcon 4 pots on the back mate. The rears cost me £1600 it stops so well and takes a long time to fade in the track.

If they're on their original colour, keep them that way.
I'm looking it and thinking nearly 20 years on from a white type r with original gold wheels.

Nice, pro R rear brakes! How much did they set you back mate? I've got AP 355mm on the front would like to do upgrade the rears in the future.

glad you've got the car
either go back to what they should be...
Not BLACK!!!
if you want a colour change go dark grey in a matt/satin finish.. like the audi finish/colour.

No, mine are the GT2's in the original anthracite colour.
Black is a too easy option on colour change.
When I get mine re done I'm still going to keep with the satin/matt finish like they are now, but probably go for the audi satin colour the Wheel Specialist do, as it's quite near to what I have now
for winter I'm on the STi 17's
done in RAL 2009 orange

17s are a so much nicer ride.
19's are hard and can tram line on lorry ruts in the road being so wide at 245/35/19

I've looked at some bola b1's in silver for mine and they're 9.5 inch wide so a 245 is the thinnest tire I could use really and I wondered if they would tram line or not. Does it ever get used hard with the 19's for a comparison of handling under pressure ?

I run 18"x 9.5 with 245's and they are fine don't get any tram lining
You might want to think twice about The E-bola's mate. There was a thread on here recently about them and the consensus was they are really nasty quality!
