Thats exsctly it id not want to go over 400 bhp thats not my aim as i want a reliable car i csn bsng some miles on but i do want to get the best from what ive got.
Im going to fit a 3" turbo back over my 2.5" so eill get a map tweek then, i think i might fit a CAIK at this point, ultimate drivability is what, 380bhp done well will trump a bigger power car on the road for driver feel

The standard air box is probably ok up to 350 above that it will hinder.

The Perrin CAIK is the best on the market. It is an excellent bit of kit. It has vanes built into it around the 'correctly sized' MAF plate which make a big difference when mapping at low end / smoothness. I had the Forge / Litchfield trumpet and pipe and it caused fluctuations with inconsistent readings due to turbulent airflow ie never the same 100% of the time. The AEM unit is good also but only the Perrin has the unique design. Martyn @ Enginetuner was very impressed with it compared to all others...

Do it once - do it right. Perrin products are pricey but very good quality.

Ohhh. one last tip. Grimmspeed boost controller - another superb design... I think they and One other firm use this Manley design valving for crisp sharp boost (think it was called that).

My theology wasn't so much about ultimate power but a great drive with ultra responsiveness... Yep also recommend the Forge recirculating bov now I've said that. Sharpens everything up ✅

Ran just over 400 on standard air box on many different subarus without any problems what so ever

Perrin use oils on there filters that can cause maf issues so aren't the best Imo and have been advised not to use them
The only boost controller I'd use is my right foot anything else is a waste of money imo as it would only be good for turning boost down not up and my foot can do that just fine

In regards to Perrin having a unique design because of the vanes isn't correct I'm afraid the AEM kit also has the vanes and I have had the two kits side by side and the kits are identical other than the fact the AEM filter head is slightly larger and oil free . but to say one is better than the other ? I think is down to opinion really however AEM have proven gains of 35bhp+ on their kit where as Perrin can only prove 30bhp? Iirc which again isn't really worth arguing about lol.

But either way I have
1 x Perrin kit for sale
5 x AEM kits for sale
5 x cone filter spares

Looking back .... Bang for your buck wise.... headers were the best. Don't forget the map tweek to release the potential and keep it safe.

Personally I wouldn't again run more than 400+/- on a 2.5 for longevity / reliability issues. Buy a 2.1 or go 2.3 if you want big power. Or better still stick at 400/430 and save lots of money.

Thank you for the advise !
I hear what you're saying

I think I will stick with my
Standard turbo then , but change the headers and up pipe and get a fmic to ensure its running cooler . ( fitting a fmic gets rid of all the argued induction kits anyway hah! )

Map tweak will be done in accordance .

What headers and up pipe have the best reviews ?

Yes brand new boxed . I'm away at the moment but when I'm back at the office next week I'll be getting the photographs and prices sorted however I know the cheapest you'll find a AEM kit is approx 260-280 inc postage and import tax if coming from abroad .

I'll be looking for £215 inc postage . I'll discount accordingly if you want to collect

Brand new AEM filter heads on their own available and brand new generic K&n style filter heads too .

Recently made a trip with a good friends over the country side. About 30% of all STi hatches registered in country, on one picture.
Blue hatch is mine.

They are Rondell 0049, German made wheels. These came with the car and I'm not really fan of them, but like the ET40 which gives a car very clean stance.

Hi

Not a manual boost controller ... this one
http://www.grimmspeed.com/electronic...x-sti-lgt-fxt/.

And you can use an oem air box for 1000bhp if you want... many have found CAIK benefits from 350+

As for Perrin filters / products - I would consider them 'high end' tuning parts which are well designed and proven. Over the years ive tried many diff manufacturers of tuning items ... for me Perrin are top of the tree

Enjoy

I don't disagree that Perrin makes good products as my hatch has enough of them but there filters can cause maf issues due to the oils they use and have been advised by Bob Rawle not to use them and I'm sure he wouldn't give bad advice or make things up

Anyone care to share their suspension setups that they are happy with for driving on our broken roads?

Currently running coilovers with 22mm front and rear, stunning on smooth roads, not so much on most of our roads though

im currently running the 25/30mm Tein springs on standard STI shocks and i must say its stiff enough without being a bother, and looks low enough with the lip kit without scraping !

Hi all,

I have a white hatch 2011, does anyone know the paint code or where I can find it? I am looking to sort out some stone chips so any recommendations as to the best products to consider, I am thinking of the Dr Colourchip

Thanks

Default Uprated Fuel Pump - issues

Hi all,

Just had the Roger Clarks uprated fuel pump fitted (prerequisite from the mapper), the fuel pump doesn't seem to be supplying enough fuel and as such the ECU is applying 25% fuel correction at idle. The garage originally didn't swap across an o ring from the old pump to the new pump which caused it to not seal correctly but now that has ben corrected but there still seems to be a leak back into the tank at the discharge point?

Has anyone got any experience of the RCM uprated fuel pump and correct fitting (2011 hatch)?

Thanks

Paul

Induction Kits for Sale

Update:

Only 4 x AEM Kits left !!

and 5 Replacement cone filters.

Im asking for £215 for a AEM Kit. Retail price in the UK is £290 for these kits, you can sometimes obtain for £275-£280 so a great saving whe buying from me !
In this you will recieve:
1 x AEM filter Head
1 x Intake pipe
1 x Fitting kit & Coupler
1 x Heat Shield
1 x AEM filter

All boxed and ready to go.

Like i said, 4 kits left. £215 isnt making me any profit, i purchased 5 kits in bulk to get the cost of mine down. after ive paid for postage and paypal fees £198 is all im left with. and i actually paid £200 per kit.

The 5 Replacement cone filters i have were sent to me from the AEM supplier as their alternative filter, a cheaper part but made to the same specifaction as the AEM cone.

im asking for £30 inc Postage for these

PM me for paypal details.

thanks to those who have already agreed to buy, once payment is received i will arrange 48 hour coruier.

Thanks

Quick hatch question.

Was it only the 330s that had the Recaro seats? Or was it an option.

Premium spec euro cars also have them as standard, essentially they are a 330s without the map and exhaust.

The VIN plate which includes the colour code, has been moved to the bottom of the passenger (LH) side "B" pillar.
