Got my Alpine double din fitted yesterday with all the right adapters for the fascia and my steering wheel controls!
Hands free included for my iPhone for easy calls on the move
Gave the engine bay a clean aswell! Came up loads better, gonna get a stiffer brush to agitate the dirty abit more and give it another go

Had some good news yesterday...my engine isn't suffering from the ringland issue. I took it to my new local dealer who gathered a load of running data from my car and analysed it before sending it to Subaru and they found there were no issues with it at all. They said the likely cause of low compression on cylinder #4 was the fact the garage that did the compression test didn't attach the tool correctly (as it's next to the bulk head and a bit tight) and this gave the false reading. So, now I can start enjoying my car again and not worrying about it every time I drive it.

I did ask for a compression and leak down test, I just relayed what I was told over the phone. I'm picking it up today so I'll find out more (hopefully). I check the oil on a near daily basis anyway, which is how I noticed it had started to use oil...it hadn't used a drop in almost 30k miles since I got it, now it's used almost 1.5ltrs in 1000 miles. I'll be contacting IM today to see what if anything they can do. Its a year out of the full Subaru warranty but I did take out the extended warranty...which has sorted out the other (cheap) issues I've had...but when I need it the most, its worthless...grrr. Oh well, best get saving for a forged rebuild.
Anyone with any advice on parts that I can start to pick up?...not worried about chasing numbers, just reliability

That amount of burning oil is NOT normal. I'd want to be in front of the person at the dealership doing the compression test.

its a different dealership that have given me the new news. Oil loss seems to have slowed. I've got another year of warranty so I'm not too worried at the moment...only time will tell.

The Speedlines on my old hatch were ET35 on an 8.5 and fitted perfect, I'd not push out any more than that because as soon as that rim extends pass the arch you are looking at MOT failure.
If you want I can double check the ET but here is a pic for now.

Thanks mate that looks good!
Also just been on NASIOC and they have plenty of pictures etc with the et38 and et30 both seem to be okay with rolled arches. They recommend 18x9.5 et38 is the perfect size/offset for the hatch!
Thanks for your help guys will get some pics up when sorted.
