Any of you guys running 255 wide tyres?
I've 245 Vreds on my 8.5 wide Turini's and they seem a little narrow and taper in quite a bit, looking at new rims and thinking of going 255 Vreds next time to make the profile a little more square on the rim, been told though that if I go 255 then I need to drop the profile down from 40 to 35.
My concern though is that the 35's may make the ride more harsh and that arch gap will grow!
The 245 standard Dunlops always sat quite square on the rim so I wonder if with a different brand of tyre I could stick with a 245?
Cheers

I'm pretty sure that Mark Chamberlain did this before he sold his hatch in favour of the RS. They looked very square on the car which is good.
yes you'd need to drop down to a 35 on the 255 tyre
Does anyone know how the front factory fit speakers are wired up? Does the tweeter get its own wire from the headunit or does it feed off the woofer in the door? Or is there a factory fit crossover somewhere?
Im going to upgrade the speakers with a component set with a crossover so wondering which wires would feed the crossover.
Not planning on using an amp just yet

I run a full alpine install in mine and the factory tweeters get there feed from the door speakers mate, I fed my crossover's with new wires from my alpine unit and then linked the alpine tweeter's to the crossover.

Ive already got a pioneer double din unit, so just need to get some better speakers. I think I'll try without an amp first and if it still sounds crap then I'll add one.
Bought a Bose mini blue tooth soundlink today, sound is awesome! Plan is to make a nice little alloy mounting bracket to stick in the car and take music from my phone
will post pics when ive made one
This is the kit

Thought i would give an update as i have made some more changes to the car and its coming along now
My rally Armor mud flaps are now here and i fitted them this weekend in no time, as well as the ZunSport scoop grille and gloss black vinyl wrapped mirrors and spoiler.
Here are some pics as the car stands at the moment:

As i said the cars getting there now, i will leave the other mods as a supprise
but the exterior should be finished within a few months and i can then move to performance upgrades

Tyre brands vary in their stated width compared to their actual width, just a case of finding what you like.
Paul.
I'm running 265/35 Vreds on 330s alloys, didn't notice much change to the ride quality. Should not increase the arch gap as 265/35/18 has the same rolling radius as my original 235/45/17 but is slightly smaller than the 245/40/18 originally on the 330s wheels.

Does anyone know how to set the REV shift light. (centre of the REV dial) I
've inadvertently set mine to 4000 RPM Without knowing how to change it back. There's no information in the user manual, so any help would be appreciated.

Engine on, neutral gear & handbrake on... then the stalk by the dial turn it & hey presto.
It turns the rev warning off, then on & if you hold it, it moves up in 500rpm levels & let go when you get it where you want!!
