Mark, think it would be fun for a while but as soon as the weather closed in and the winter got here you get very board very quick, bet its a blast though on a long dry road though.

How about another hawk, someone may be looking to trade up like we all did and wanting a px?

Would have to agree with this. I have driven a standard One and on a quiet b road or track I'm sure it will out a grin on your face for a while bit as an everyday car hmmm I'm not to sure.

As for the hawk I see your train of thought but the 2.5 related issues would still be there so you may as well stick with the devil you now and keep your hatch. If it is a Subaru you want to stay for then I would go for a well nodded hawk, forged engine etc or better still a wide track blobeye sti, be it a highly modded one or mildly tuned one and put cash in the bank.

Good luck what ever you do but a type r for your hatch I would not

I drive a standard FN2 currently and the main criticism (and reason I want to go back to 4WD) is definitely the lack of grip in anything but perfect conditions. Even when bone dry it’s hard getting the power down from a standing start. Many times I’ve been out done by a golf diesel off the lights as VTEC only kicks in at 5400 by which time in 1st the front wheels are spinning so you have to short shift. Not the be all and end all but just to give you an idea. I assume with the flashpro that VTEC is programmed to kick in lower down the rev range of course it has an LSD fitted. But then it has a lot more power than mine so I can’t help but feel the owner has come to a similar conclusion and wants rid. Plus CTR’s are 2 a penny – I saw 3 others on my lunch break today!

Any car that wouldn't easily outdrag a diesel away from the lights is no substitute for an Sti.

Snarson, may just be the pic but your splitter look a bit dull in places, IIRC you have the same one as me, I painted it in plastidip and the results were perfect.

Car is looking great though.

Looks like the basonR splitter, search eBay USA for them. Got one on order was 70 ish for the lip and 30 ish delivery. It's been in customs for 6 days according to tracking info. Still awaiting the import duty slip so I can pay it and get it delivered. Will dig the link out for you Paul

Steve is right!

Took some more pictures this evening after giving the car a quick wash.. I had the lip and tyres fixed/cleaned when I got home, so no worries there

Thanks mate!

The springs are Eibach Pro Spring Kit, and yes, they're 18".

I also like the "stance"; not too low with stupid camber due to the fact that this is my daily driver!

Cheers mate, have the prodrive springs as fitted to the 330s but it needs dropping that little bit more for my liking and yours sits just ontop of the alloys so it should look just right for me as I'm on the 19" gt2 alloys. Thanks for that but how do you find the ride over your original set up?

I use the same tyre size as original and also (of course) had a geometry done after wards. I think the ride drives well, a bit harder then original, but it feels "sporty"

Please show us a picture of your ride too

I would imagine that is how the 330 set up feels like as I drove a std 08 sti and then jumped into the 330 and ended up buying it. Just think the ride height needs dropping a little more.

Very few pictures as I'm building a list of items to fit one weekend so only pics are in standard form but as this is a picture thread ;-)

I think you're mistaken.
I'm sure the 330S has standard springs - just bigger wheels

They list the GT2 wheels as a 'standard fit' on the Prodrive website for the 330s, don't know if they were a dealer fit or indeed removed by the dealers but mine came with the 18'' ers.

GT2

As for prodrive spring standard fit, definitely no as mine bounces about like a washing machine with a brick in it!
