08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
Did you get a set of the Carl Davey ones in the end? And how did they make it harder to fit the turbo?

Talking of turbos, I saw in another thread that you'd been onto Full Race about (I assume) one of the BW EFR twin scrolls. Did you get as far as discussing which particular model to go for? On paper they look bleedin' marvelous but from what you said maybe rotated is the only way to get them to fit RHD - not a huge issue as I need a full exhaust making anyway.
Cheers, Neil
i good price ! but only if needed
thing is still plenty of tread on tyres ive got on so that no problem , just u heard folk saying makes big differents compared to normal tyres
just dont want to spend £700+ if not needed as insurance due nx month aswell

In the end I got a set from Scooby Clinic for £100.
I spoke to Full race and they said they won't fit RHD cars unless you fabricate some parts. So I left it at that, but like you said those turbos a sh\t hot on paper they have everything you can think of. It might be worth chasing up if we can get a group buy on them.
Immy
Still don't get why the spacers caused problems with turbo fitment though?

The prices are already VERY reasonable but a group buy could only make things better. If only we can find a way to get them over here without being stung for duty etc.
Cheers, Neil
I wonder what bits need fabricating in order to fit the insulating spacers ????
It would be good to know the full story so you can decide whether its worth the aggro.
Even to know what the problem is would help decide if its worth trying. I may mail FR later to try to get more info if Immy hasn't already done it !!

The Full Race part is for more info on the BW EFR range of turbos and what needs doing to fit one.

Maybe one for the future then if there're enough interested parties?
Still don't get why the spacers caused problems with turbo fitment though?
Now that sounds like an idea worth pursuing. I'll email Geoff at FR today for some more info.

Finally made it to Cobrasport exhausts today for my new turbo back system.
Bought in the current group by deal - an amazing £711 'ish fitted.
Also completely custom made for you...
A full 3" system starting with an open mouth downpipe housing a 200 cell sports catalyst (fully heatwrapped = a little extra).
Resonated centre and T shape backbox with custom outlets...
After some deliberation I chose 4" slash cut tips slightly rotated and slightly staggered to completely blend with the bumper line.
It was the first time they have done this arrangement and the end result is superb !
Sean who did the welding up and positioning of the rear box and tips is an absolute perfectionist - its a real work of art.
And the sound... what an orchestra of sound - on a 80mph cruise pretty much the same as before. but tickling it on pull away or on full chat - crikey... a snarley, growling, gutteral bark !
Wanted to give the boys at Cobrasport a big up for workmanship and professionalism - esp Pete, Matt and Sean.
If I had a decent camera I'd take some shots.. but then I dunno how to post them up so... sorry about that guys.
i've previously had full H+S systems which are very good, but in times of recession CobraSport are offering something which is 'as good' and very well priced. My 380 mile round trip was worth it - still vastly cheaper than other local peeps.
Also Cheers to Paul666 for setting up the deal. You really won't get a better quality system anywhere, and they produce the goods as well.
I'm gonna have a minor map tweak shortly with my new Grimmspeed boost controller and bigger injectors and we'll see what sort of increase we get from swapping up from a 2.5" decat system to a 3" sports cat....

Answers on a postcard please.

yeah they are around £30 each marker but its not as easy as just ordering them, what size do you require ?? there's roughly about 13-15 different sizes off the top on my head & some very special ones for those needing extra clearances I.e Gas conversions for the tight wads

- so it doesn't matter what size really, but £30 each (and that's without retainers) is going to end up well over £500 - may as well buy some AVCS heads for ~£300 and harvest the parts from there...I'm assuming the buckets from a v5/v6 STI are the same diameter as the shimless buckets - could you check for me?
Cheers!

I need buckets that range from 3.2 to 3.6mm, I know they don't go that thin so I'll be having material taken out of the underneath. It's for my P1 which I'm rebuilding - there's been too much material taken from the valve seats so I've go clearance issues

I'll check when I'm back at work on monday for you mate. PM me I will be able to sort the buckets cheaper than £30. so you'll be needing 16 buckets ideally ?
why did they not offer to gently grind the top off the valve stem to compensate for what they've removed from the seat ??

I am looking for 16 yes - I'll fire you a PM - cheers Rob!

I had the work done over 12 months ago, the heads have been sat on the shelf while I was getting my **** in gear to find the time to start rebuilding :-) So I guess it's probably a little late now - plus I figure it's a good excuse to get rid of the shims just in case I ever decide to put some wild cams in there and push the rev limit up / etc..
I am looking for 16 yes - I'll fire you a PM - cheers Rob!

Thats a quotation from the subaru Super service and it should cost no more than that unless you opt for an air con service & wheel alignment. every dealer has access to this information so it should be the same at any dealer, But doesn't do any harm to go in armed with some ammunition if they try to charge you more
top man.
Tnx.
am thinking of getting my plastic inner arches done too, don't like the thought of them being cut and mackeled with. I've had to TieClip them up as they drop/dend down at speed and rub on the wheel if you're not careful. Been told these are about £35+vat each.

because of this... I think someone cut it out to get to the fog lights

some tie clips I bought from Halfords over at Tamworth have kept it up for the last 3months, but driving to Tamworth from Nottm I could hear it rubbing when I dropped down in speed

i had exactly the same part of the undertray cut out and caused the inner arch to tear and start banging on the wheel!!!
I think this is very dangerous whoever done it, obviously pure laziness.

That's shockingly lazy!!! WTF is wrong with people - it takes 10 minutes to take the front bumper off!!!

that's an amazing price, can you confirm they're the same diameter as the v5/v6 STI followers? Also, I believe I'll need 16 retainers too as the shimless followers have different retainers than the under bucket type..Thanks again
Does anyone know if the door switchgear comes apart, next job on the list is to repaint each one and cover in some hard laquer, don't want the hassle of taking the door panels off if then I cannot detach the silver trim section and then remove the black switches!
Original plan was to wrap but recess is too deep to do in one piece so painting it is, hopefully!
