For those with cold air induction kits, did ye add a cold air duct run to the fog light area?
Or how did you go about getting a good supply of cold air?
I'm gonna be fitting a K&N Typhoon and was wondering best way to route an air intake duct.
Any tips much appreciated, thanks!

Sorry, don't mean to rain on your parade.
it didn't come with keyless start unfortunately neither did it come with the bloody recaros not sure why it was spec'd like that as the recaros are a free optional extra in jAPAN.
The interior is just the same it's the way the car goes that is different

In answer to your original question, there should be no need to run additional ducting. However, as the typhoon is not completely isolated from the engine compartment it might not be a bad idea. IIRC, if you have foglights you can remove the back from the surround leaving just the mesh - although I can't remember offhand if that would then allow air to pass directly into the inner wing.

The AEM kit is fully enclosed in the inner wing so doesn't suffer in the same way and does not need any additional ducting.
HTH this time.
No probs - thanks for the pre-empt and getting the response out the way!
I don't have foglights, just the covers with bulgy stripe bits - so it's not even a flat surface to allow it to be cut with a dremel to fit a trumpet or nicer looking duct.
I'm reluctant just to drill holes in the cover.
See - if I bought the AEM, I wouldn't have the enjoyment of coming up with a fancy engineering solution

Part number for offside fog surround is: 57731FG130

Where did you source recaro's from M8? & rough idea of price if poss? Missed out on some a dealer had recently so still looking.....
Monster, just an idea to throw at you
see these foglight covers I had made for me by a mate, he took the standard ones I had (like you have) and turned them into these:
you could do the same but on the n/s incorporate a trumpet
another alternative are these:

Confused. Have been offered 330s, Japanese Spec C and a 320r which is the better solution and why bearing in mind there is about a 5k step between each one in the above order. All have offered a reasonable part exchange on my WRX but where as the lowest is in my price range if I wait 3 or 4 months I could probably stretch a bit further? I am aware of the 2.5 engine problems so I am guessing everyone is going to say the Spec C, is that correct?
So your still on the hunt for a hatch then!
Depends really what you are after, assuming the 320r is a Saloon then apart from the shape there is not a huge amount of difference between that and the 330s, same seats, radio etc, oh and 10bhp, 330 power upgrade developed by Prodive where the 320 is by Subaru, both with UK Warranty.
Spec C, different car IMHO, not so many luxuries and not sure about Warranty, think if its a Litchfield one then you get 2 years but with them rather than your local dealer so if you are not close then not so good. This is more track focused due to it being lighter but more than acceptable on the road.
Serously thought about buying a spec C myself a few months back but decided against it as I wanted the luxuries more than the better handling etc, however I do still keeping thinking that I should have one, its an itch that needs to be scratched.

Not sure I like the saloon, looks like an Avensis. Agree with the Spec C points Arron and have the Exige so don't really want two of a kind. Like you I like the little luxuries. The question is then a newish 330s is going to cost between 22 and 25k where as the new monster is 33k. Is the spec c suspension worth the difference? Also guessing the bottom is going to fall out of these soon as well with £2 petrol on the horizon making them difficult to sell on with their 400+ tax compared to the Golf R?

I'd be tempted then to go for a secondhand 330s as someone else would have taken that initial hit. From what I understand the Spec C setup on the new car is very good but I do not push my car that hard to warrant it, a set of Prodrive or Pro R sourced springs should be enough to keep you happy and again warranty friendly.
Considering the £2 petrol, well I'll always have this type of car as I would just not be happy in a bog standard car so on that basis I'll buy another which (assuming I buy secondhand) would have been hit by the fuel costs too so should be priced accordingly.
I have been looking recently and all I can find that tempts be away from the hatch are RS4's and Camaro's, neither that fuel friendly and the latter you sit on the wrong side which I cannot be a$$ed with!

Hope i've not posted too many photos. Let me know what you guys think.
The car is completely different to my old hatch. Suspension is night and day different, so is the gearbox. 320 map is very torquey, and from 3000rpm up its massively quick
. Got 34mpg on a leisurely trip aswell IMG_0391.jpg?t=1308257538
