Warranty isn't a factor in my suspension choice, i plan on owning the car at least two years after the warranty has expired so i'm not limiting my choice for the sake of whats left of it.

I think i'm going to go with Bren's Apex coilovers, at the prices he's doing them it would be rude not to. Plus i have an OCD about the ride height which can only be satisfied it i set it just as i want Just need to choose the spring rates.

The bracket that holds them looks very similar to that used by rallyarmour which certainly holds them well and provides a pretty good fit, looks a good price compared to the RA's aswell.

Anybody know if a PSi3 works on the hatches... as Scangauge II etc work i'm presuming the PSi3 should do too as it will use the same OBD pin even tho it communicates via SSM rather than ODBII. Hopefully the parameter address wouldn't have changed so will display fine??

PSI 3 wont function with the Hatch, I tried and failed 2 years ago with one even after I sent it back for a software upgrade. so I went for the scangauge as it basically does a similar job

I've just got back from a weeks holiday with the family tin-tent and D3.... spent the whole 5 hour trip home looking forward to getting back in the hatch for a wee spin...

Got home, cleaned & polished it.... went to find keys... gone.... after much routing through drawers, suitcases, caravan still no sign, so gave in and went to get the spare fob, only to find it dead as a dodo...

This was late Sat pm, so have had to spend all yesterday with a very shiny but dead scooby sat outside my home making me crazy...

Just off now to TH Whites to get replacement battery...

PS

20mm spacers plus full car (ie 2 adults, 2 kids, carrycot, pushchair and babyseats (inc isofix bases) equals rubbing on the arches )

Have rolled the inner arch profile with a broom handle, so we will se if It's solved the problem...

Does fitting tein springs stiffen the spring rate enough to stop this happening?

Cheers Phil, are yours Lamin-X?

Either way they look good, got my samples through and the gunsmoke looks good but a little too dark for my liking and maybe a little boyracer blacked out!

B**dy shame that, that was going to be my gauge solution (have the defi oil temp and pressure sensors). Tried two today and both failed to communicate

I'd get the scangauge but i wanted oil temp/pressure on the same display (Have you tried the xgauge function to get 'knock'?)

It may have to be Rev 2 with the kiwi wifi and iMFD input, can then have egt and afr etc and mount the iphone/touch with a brodit holder.... maybe.

Does seem a great shame to be saying bye to the Hatch Rob after all your good work.

Save yourself some pennies mate and keep it (but treat it to the new Ecutek software)

With the look and spec of yours Rob, hatch all day long. Prefer the hatch to be truthful, specially with a built engine.

Out with the kids a week ago minding my own business when a complete t**t in a Focus ST overtakes me, pulls straight in front, slams on the brakes, gives me a finger and accelerates away on a new surfaced road showering us with chippings. When I had finally calmed the kids down, they thought the sky was falling in, I got out to look at the damage and boy what a mess. I was so shocked by the d**k I didn't even get his registration but the car looks like it's been in Iraq, the bumper, grill, bonnet, windscreen, roof and even down the driver's side all chipped to hell.

I love the car to bits but that's enough for me the paint is so vulnerable I think if I left it 3 years to sell it would need a complete respray. How many others are suffering or are the roads just so bad down here? I know this t**t was a one off but I already had damage after 7000 miles and no I don't drive too close. I am going to use the tank for daily driving now, Navara and part exchanging on a weekend toy with two seats. This is my 5th Impreza and I have never had this problem before it's made me so depressed. I wash, polish and wax weekly but what the hell for. Rant over, I'll close the door..............

What do you think your odds are particularly given their indifferent reaction to the engine failure?

That's really bad news, some people have no respect & i feel your pain..

Just had mine resprayed, bumper, blend the wings & bonnet on a car that's done 5500 miles, looks more like a car that had done 55000 miles. Disgraceful paint quality!

Mines done just under 10,000 miles now and paint is still pretty good. Still on engine number one as well.

Hope things stay this way.

Mark, I completely failed to get a pic of the two cars together! D'oh!!

Adding to the paint issue, mine has significant chips to front and bonnet. Doesn't really bother me that tbh as all my previous Subaru's had the same trait so I kinda expect to have to have the front resprayed every once in a while.

Rob - I've been told that the race-rom will be available in full format at end of year (when mine will be going for its big turbo, fmic etc) - has Andy F indicated a date to you?

Paul,

You need to get some touch up paint ordered from your dealer asap... if Subaru's warranty is anything like others, they require your to treat the bare metal and not leave it open to corrosion, otherwise they say the bodywork warranty is void (surprise surprise).

Worth ringing your dealer and having a "casual" conversation about stone chips etc... before going in and giving them an easy get out.
