I've read all 4 pages of this post and from what i can see it SOUND like this weeble fella has ripped everyone off.

Think of it this way, if your account was 'hacked' or logged into by someone else and some deals went down for turbos, brakes etc for what sounds like a good few quid and then a post popped up with everyone moaning that they had hadn't received their parts would you be logging into your paypal and paying them all back?.........

I'm damned sure i wouldn't be, obviously i'd doing everything in my power to help these people out but i sure as hell wouldn't be dishing out money for a crime(s) i hadn't commited!

Sounds very suspect to me in MY opinion!

At the bottom of page 3 'The M@trix has made a very good post about a set of rules from another forum. The mods should read these through and IMO implement all of them!
I also use that forum and their buying and selling rules although strict are indeed very very good. They have to police a forum with getting on for 300'000 members with 150 odd new members a day. This forum is bloody massive too we need stricter trading rules!
They also have a hall of shame as mentioned by someone earlier listing all details of rip off merchants!

The itrader system should help and if you have a low count like i do, then when selling i usually make a reference to my ebay name so people can check feedbcak there whish is likely to be higher than on here.

Hope everyone gets their money back as i can imagine it's not a nice scenario to be in but with paypal warnings on money receipts? I wouldn't be holding my breath

Im not sure what to believe to be honest mate, just glad the money is hopefully coming back, thats the main thing for me.

Can understand your anger and believe me, your advice in other posts has helped no end (and i keep watching you Nurburgring vid to try and learn it before my trip!) so thanks.

Just hoping everyone has a happy ending. never had a problem with SN and i sent £300 to a member on here at the start of this month and got the goods in a few days. Im probably just far too trusting, and stricter rules on selling on here would hopefully stop guallable (cant spell) people like me getting caught out so i am all for it

There is a trader score system in place to give everyone all the info they need to know.

*I'm a newbie on this forum and many other Subaru sites, had a quick read and its good that those who had sent money in good faith are receiving refunds.
However some users such as peanut brain above.. sorry peanuts has implied that those not directly affected should keep their noses out.

As an outsider looking in, actually I think its in everyones interest to know what exactly is going on so that it doesnt happen to other good scooby members.
The whole point of owners clubs/forums etc is that honest like minded people with a similar interest can share info and communicate with each other.

It is strange how the guy in question here says he's innocent yet has refunded several people out of his own pocket.
It looks even stranger and more suspect when someone new like myself see's whats going on. All it does is make me think, WTF is this kind of website and what type of member does it allow on here.

A lot of you have commented that maybe there should be a minimum number of posts on your user id before you can sell something..
But then what?
I'm new to this site and have nothing to sell... but if I did and needed to up my post numbers I'd just reply to every going thread with something like.. " yes " " nice one" "bttt", etc etc which wouldn't tell anyone if I was an honest seller or not.

Personally I think the details should be shared with other members so we can all keep our hard earned cash safe!

But like I said I'm a newbie, so WTF do I know!

No, all you need to know is whether or not you would deal with the guy based on knowledge in the public domain, you do not need to know the ins and outs and private details of either party.
All you need to do is think whether or not there is enough doubt to make you hand over money to someone with trust, or take extra steps to ensure you're covered, the rest of your idiotic diatribe isn't really worth toilet water.

Peanut, I dont think my post was a rant or attack at all.

Looking at the numbers, more users would like to know the truth about the story than not.

Dont see why you are so defensive, I don't see why those who are honest buyers and sellers cant know what happened so they can avoid the same problem, or end up making the same mistake.

If YOU dont want to know, keep away from the thread!

i know one thing for sure, if someone hacked my account and ripped people off i wouldn't be paying back what must be a £1000 out of the kindness of my heart, i'd be after the guy that did!

You are correct, more users would like to know whats going on than not BUT that does not mean they have the right to know. All the people involved are kept informed and know whats going on and from what they have posted it appears that the disputes are being resolved in a way that they will be happy with.

Why would weeebell pay back money out of his own pocket? I would assume that 2 reasons stand out as being viable 1) he got caught scamming people and has to 2) he is an honest guy trying to help out fellow members who have been scammed.

The point peanuts has made is that all the people involved appear happy with the way things are going and thats all that matters.

If you are considering buying from here (or anywhere else for that matter) I would suggest doing a bit of research first. Look at the sellers itrader rating, view their recent posts and account activity, do a search for any negative comments etc. If your not happy sending money then pay cash on collection. If its too far away to collect then simply wait. There will always be another item for sale at some point

For what it's worth guys and girls, This thread was started by my mate Fezza (James) who as a favour found me a VF35 for sale and i paid for it. The deal obviously went t!ts up and i was out of pocket for £250. Myself and James do know all the facts behind this and have had very consistent communication from Weeebell, which i commend him for. I have been sent payment with a post office tracking number (that checks out) and will hopefully receive it Monday morning. I have no reason at all to doubt the fact that Weeebell is doing the right thing. I don't wish to get into a debate about all the comments on this thread, Some have a good point and some are downright malicious. As i said before, I do know all the facts and just want my money back. I am confident this will happen. If it doesn't i'm gonna look a right tw@t

Thats all well and good but to start with before refunds feelings were different,i dont see why/how you can suddenly be all pally with someone who took money then when the lynch mob got hold only then refunded it ?
If refunds had been given before this post then yes,a very commendable person indeed.

You remind me of a famous person then who slates off the press when they needed the press to get them famous.

but hey,its all going to plan and good luck to you all,im sure you will soon get all your monies back

If it was all going so well then why start this thread on a public forum
Sort it out in private between yourselves if its an honest mistake or via pm's.
Dont moan when people have their say when you made it public
Buying and selling shouldnt be that difficult!

Guys, i dont think peanut should actually be subjected to any negative comments, just like anyone else on here.
Peanut obviously has his own opinion on the subject.. just like the rest of us. Personally i think he's come across as a bit of a mouthy dick.. but thats just my opinion... i.e he used a lot of 'f' words before many others did...

No one actually has a right to know exactly what has gone on unless you've been personally involved.
My initial comments were meant to imply that once its all sorted it would be good to know what happened so that we can all learn from these mistakes.

Yes its odd how someone appears to be refunding money to other members just out of good will.. but then we dont know the whole story.. **cough cough** which was we all wanted to know in the first place....

I'm new on here so thanks to all the suppotive comments and pm's. But i've not joined this site to have a go at anyone. Just to learn more about the car i own and drive every day and to share positive information with other like minded individuals.

Peanut, i dont know you personally but on first impressions, like many other users on here, i think your a muppet. But I shouldnt judge you on just one thread, it looks likes you have posted thousands of times so you obviously have taken time out with your fellow subaru owners.

Good luck to all you who got scammed by 'someone' who was the innocent person who is now refunding you all out of the goodness of his heart (As we know no different).
If anyone scams me... i will politely tell you all to F**K OFF!

p.s... i'm now on about 12 posts.. SO, is anyone interested in buying a HKS turbo thingie system for.. erm £20.

I have a PRODRIVE full cat back exhaust for sale, only covered 1000 miles, yours for £29 ovno.

Impreza ECU from 2005 WRX STI wing chang jong special edt... never imported to europe before, be a hero... Will help give your impreza an extra 400 bhp... now only £45.

email me: peanut_is_a_knob@dryroastednutz.com :-)

Just to update this thread...

There were a few problems with the paypal payments (sending limits from unverified account i think - not same account that money was paid into) but suffice to say Weeebell went out of his way for my mate, went and got postal orders and sent them recorded mail to my mate.

Whatever happened in the first place, it seems Weeebell has put things right and fully refunded the money. I hope everyone else has similar stories, im sure they will do soon.

Its up to Weeebell if he wants to post exactly what happened and why, people can make up their own minds looking at this thread, its pretty much all in here anyway.

kobi_wrx - thats just harsh man, but incredibly funny!

I wonder if the reason weeball is repaying the funds, is due to the guy who found out so much about him, i.e. different logins, location, name etc. Perhaps if these details werent found, weeball would of just `disappeared` ?

As for being nosey about wanting to know the details, then yes I am :-) Lets be honest, it maybe a car forum, but as a group we discuss every detail, about every thing possible, which I love :-) Keeps me sane at work :-) If your going to go public and ask for help about a guy who's robbed you, then be prepared to be 100% open, or stay private via the pm's.

Kobi, welcome, what a breath of fresh air :-) Looking forward to your future threads matey :-)

As it has been previously said people would like to know more, but they do not have any right to know more.

Having said that, I do have to wonder, about all of this, weebell, has said he knows the Guy, and he has or is paying people back the money...

As some of you know, weebell posted asking what was happening to this place, with lots of people being ripped off all the time.

I was involved in a dispute with another member on here, when i bought a 6 Speed box and never got it, and the address he gave was wrong, but i had paid cash into his account.. and I managed to trace him down, and eventually had the police involved and got my money back.

But even though i was close to being ripped off, i do believe weebell could be innicent.

If i had a good reputation on a forum, and someone used my account to rip people off then i would also try and repay everyone and then go get the money back from the person who hacked my account...

This could be what weebell is doing... as he may have wanted to keep his reputation.. but all the negativity in this thread may have him embarrassed to post, as people are Judging him... Rightly or Wrongly.... Bt in the eyes of the Law he is innocent until Proven Guilty.

those of us not involved do not have the right to know what's what, we do not have the right to Judge.

But the Forum Owner / Moderators do. once resolved they should be given all the facts and they should decide bassed on this Information if they believe weebell to by Guilty or not.

But we do have the right to know the outcome, And whatever the Forum staff decide then the community should accept their decisions, and if that means they Believe weebell then I think we should respect that and sell too him and even buy from him.

One thing is apparent though.. the multiple accounts should go.

If the Forum Owner / Mods believe he is Guilty then, i am sure they will do one of two things...

1 Ban from the Forum.
2 Ban from Trading.

If the Believe he is Not Guilty, then no action would be taken and he will be allowed to continue trading etc.
