What's the purpose of the belt guide if you don't mind me asking? Is there something already there that this replaces or is this additional to hold it in place better? If the belt expands with heat with it not foul this belt guide?

Thanks

The stock guide is thin pressed steel. At high RPMs the belt can whip and with enough force deform the stock steel item. This is obviously a much stronger solution. The guide is set to a clearance of 0.4mm to allow for expansion.

Hope that helps :-)

Ah right so it replaces something already there but stronger. Sounds cool. Thanks for the info.

Lovely bit of work on the belt guide.

Is the 0.4mm a finger in the air or is that the actual expansion rate for the belt?

0.38mm is Subaru's specified bottom limit from memory. Can't remember top limit off the top of my head.

Can check for you later if you want.

Collected some of my boost pipes from the powdercoaters tonight. As you can see the air temp boss has been added and theyre now a gorgeous "stipple" effect satin black. These look mega OEM in the metal. Really pleased with how they have come out.

Just the intake manifold to come back now
