like a motorbike lol
not a wonderful video.. mate offered to video it but he was a 30minute drive away and I had a headache.. went to carpark that is normally empty and they were cutting hedges etc so was busy.. so....

headers are twin scroll to wastegate just before turbo where they merge to one..

Kiting last week mate. Aerial transition to landing reversed 2 wheels. Looped the kite on the landing and got ripped over. Landed on my left shoulder and then got dragged for about 30ft. Wasnt that impressive to be honest and a looked a royal **** infront of a load of people.

Cheers Neil, yeah its a promising read.
Stuck at home at the mo with nothing to do, so decided to clean up all the imperfections in my head ports. Intakes have been left rough'ish, while the exhausts are almost polished.
The heads are having the valve seats pressure checked at the mo. Then they can be washed and reassembled when they come back.

Valves/seats have now been leak tested and are ready to assemble. As soon as im fixed up and back at work, these will be washed, re-inspected and assembled.

So then, what else you gonna do when youre stuck home with a f'ked shoulder and cracked ribs?
Port + polish your heads
Bored today so armed with porting tool, carbide burrs, sanding drums, brass wheels, mops and soap i set about cleaning up my ports.
Actual port shape has been largely uninterfered with but all 99% of all casting imperfections and flashing have been smoothed. Also smoothed in the roof angles towards the valves slightly and cleaned up the dogleg area in the exhaust ports.
The intakes have been finished in 80 grit by hand and have a nice smooth key. The exhausts have been polished to almost mirror. Really hard to photograph, especially with a phone, but here you go.
Just a light lap left to do of the valves before a final cc check, wash and assembly.

Lol, nah all done in la'garage
Did very little in the way of opening stuff up as i really dont think the heads need it. Just cleaned up obvious crap casting areas and made sure everythings smooth. I didnt blade the dividers either. Just sharpened and finished with a clean little radius.

Pete,
The dog leg is the port from the front exhaust valve. Its most clearly seen in this pic here.
The port on the right you can see that the exhaust gas has a nice clean uninterrupted journey from the valve heads to the exhust port.
The port on the left however has one run thats slightly twisted from the valve head to the exhaust port. And the worst offender is the front most valve. This has quite a wiggle to get from the valve head to the exhaust port.
Subaru exhaust ports are not symetrical like the intakes are.
Hence being termed the dogleg.

Valves all given a light lap today. Very light with only fine grit paste just to ensure the seats were 100%.
Took it slow as my shoulder was killing, but i had sod all else to do. lol
Just wash, assemble and final cc to go
Really hope these heads work as ive spent quite a bit of time on them now.
