We've gone for 2 rounds over 20 days and we're in with a shot at the win now.

Please please please vote.

Top Scoob 009 The Super Monster Robot Blow Out !!! Final Round - NASIOC

Thanks to everyone that helped me get this far. Im totally made up to be here against 2 awesome imprezas.

Im sorry i have no other updates for you guys as the cars engine is on its way out and she's in bits.. but only to come back, bigger and better with her new forged 2.5 build and "hopefully" rotated setup.

You guys have inspired me the whole way through the last 2.5 years and have helped me make the car you see here.

Thankyou to everyone... with your help, we'll make her even better.

Bugeye for life!!

Have to say I find myself reading this thread over and over and just love it.

I know my misses doesn't though as I now want to fit a roof vent to my Prodrive style TypeUK. I miss it ever since I sold my Version 6 STi TypeRA and am inspired by the job you did, to do my own.

I just have to get the ***** to do it now.

Knowing my look I'll make a ***** of it.

Fingers crossed.

Your doing a great Job.

After alot of work today, these are the fruits of my labour. Was a little tricky at times working completely alone but after some swearing and some cut knuckles the motor finally came out.

Not a hard job by any means but not the easiest without another set of hands.

Now the task of cleaning and preping everything to go back in before stripping the motor for parts and then on to the new build.

Sorry for the cak fone pics but i wasnt about to get out the DSLR with dirty hands

Frayz,

I've not been on Scoobynet much of late and somehow managed to miss this thread. Just spent the last 2hrs on a Saturday night reading it! Unbelievable! I have been a member here for a good few years now and over that time I have seen the community and cars evolve. Your car is truely one of the greats if not the greatest car to have graced this forum. Can't say more than that.

All the best with the remainder of the work. I will watch with interest.

Cheers.

Ah the joys of removing an engine on your own.... I took the engine/gear box out of my golf a couple of months ago to break it and I had the 'I wonder how heavy this gearbox is' moments as I was about to undo the last bolt. At least I wasn't having to worry too much about the rest of the car.

In Ireland mate I'd love to get you to do it but I guess I'll just have to do it myself.

I have e-mailed Japanparts.com for a price on all parts so I am waiting on a reply.

Can you remember how much you paid by anychance.

Got a bit of time this morning so started stripping the ancilleries off the 207 motor. These will all be going on the 257 motor in some way shape or form.

Spent the time cleaning everything as i came off, some larger stuff will be chemically cleaned and/or beadblasted and refurbished before going back on.

All the important stuff was tagged inc all hardware removed. Everything was then bagged and sealed.

Heres a few snaps, inc various stages of the stripping of the intake manifold.
(Also found out that my manifold had the JDM TGV'less bodies on them, but im still gonna fit the spec C intake.

Nice one. Someone over in the US asked if I was giving you a run for your money... I told him not with a busted engine I wasn't! Maybe got you on the cleaning/looks side (GC8s rule!) but owned on the engine side, ha.
