glad to hear that not all news is bad news frayz.
out of interest, if you were going to sell this car, what would you be asking for it? obviously you don't have to answer that one if you don't want to...

fingers crossed you stick with it to the end frayz, it would be a shame if you didn't get it done because of people letting you down rather than some mechanical problem that left you banging your head against a brickwall!
it is damn annoying to be mucked about with, let down and given empty promises. i'm of similar make up to yourself in that i'd rather be told up front rather than dragged along and pissed around!
anyways, hoping you have a smoother run for a while

Frayz,
When you spoke to me on Friday I made it very clear to you that at NO time did Lateral have an order for a crank for your engine. I suggested that you speak to the other people involved in your car, and take it up with them.
I also asked you to make sure that no one reading your thread was left under any impression the Lateral Performance were responsible for your delays, you promised to rectify your posts suggesting this.
I've now had a chance to read your various posts, and find that you haven't bothered to either edit them, or make it clear to those following this thread that Lateral Performance are not responsible for your delays, and never were !
It's a pity that you're not as quick to apologize for YOUR mistakes, as you are to incorrectly apportion blame !
Mark.

Frayz brilliant read from start to now. Gives inspiration to my small french project which is completely the other end of the project scale
Lateral Performance i couldn't find any posts in here linked to any supplier providing poor service. Though now that you have brought it to everyones attention it smacks of a remarkable own goal.

Once i have the crank, things can really start to move forward.

Frayz, I am very impressed with what you have done to your car, but reading that post a few days ago did make me think it was very unlike Lateral/Mark to leave someone with no updates!
TBH, it stuck in my mind, but the post clearly said you were waiting for a crank from Lateral, and then in other posts getting more and more frustrated by the non-delivery of your crank (although no mention of Lateral in later posts)
Personally, I don't think Mark's post is unwanted, especially when the reputation of his company comes into question, and by all accounts not actually his fault!!

Not a damining post in itself, but the continual complaint about the supplier of the crank could be considered as one.

well to be fair as far as frayz was concerned he placed an order and was waiting for it, it never turned up.
he has just said his problems are bigger so maybe apologizing to lateral performacne diddnt cross his mind, also if he placed an order and there was a **** up and they diddnt have record of it, its not exactly frayz's fault?

Isnt it a pity nobody could of quoted this post either..
As for it being on order from yourself. I was told in good faith it was on order from yourself. Hence my phonecall to you to clarify the situation.
Now im sorry if any of this has been misconstrood but for the purpose of not upsetting anyone else.
Mark at Lateral Performance was not the cause of my delay and never was.
I hope you feel better now.
Edit: Also i have edited the 1 post (507) to say at NO point is Lateral Performance to blame for any delys of the said crankshaft

Now back on topic,
Gutted isnt the word. The pic i posted of the crank was taken at approx 1:30am this morning when i got home from work. I didnt have a proper look at it.
Now on inspection of it tonight when i was going to measure it up for the build i found it to be damged. It appears as though it has been dropped and when i measured the dimensions it was clear that the impact had also bent it.
It was clear when i opened it that it had not been previously opened since coming from the Subaru factory. It was also very well packaged from Area 52 and there was no damage on the box it was transited in.
I belive the damage done was done at the Subaru factory and so it now leaves me to call the guys at Area 52 in the morning to try and see if i can get a replacement.
As i build prototype engines for a living, i am always exceptionally careful with parts. I also got some of the old hands from my build area to check the crank over with me.
Gutted... but hey, sods law i guess. Ive done my stressing about it. Lets just hope i can get it resolved.

Frayz,
I'm sorry, I've only seen this thread, and Andy Tang hit the nail on the head.
In post 507 of this thread it was stated you were waiting for Lateral to supply the crank.
In later posts you're f'ing, and blinding about poor service, and you're sick of it, to the point where you talk about selling the car !
I don't want anyone to associate that level of service, or someones upset, with Lateral Performance !
I'm sorry if some people struggle to grasp my position on this.
Frayz, thanks for putting the record straight, and good luck with your build.
Mark.

Gutted for you Frayz, hang in there mate. I know how you feel and have been there myself. When your trying to reach a goal and all these obstacles are thrown in your way it is very dis-heartening. You just want to throw in the towell and get rid and get another car with all the work done already. Stick with it as you will have a great car of your creation when finished!!
Give it a couple days and your feel alot different, there will be light at the end of the tunnel!!
