T26 WRC - Frayz Engineering WRC S8 TARMAC SPECIAL - aka THE BOMBER
Hey Frayz, just a quick "Thankyou" from me for the insperation and the guide to fit the roof vent.
No problem with Japanparts as I`ve used them before, fitting the vent was very straight forward (after reading your guide 82 times
I had no worries whatsoever about cutting the hole. The only tricky bit I found was lining up the interior trim for cutting.
All went well, thanks again, you`re a star

Thats funking great mate, really chuffed that you used it and found it easy to follow. Glad you had the nuts to give it a go, it really isnt that bad once youre nuts deep in it is it?

Get some pics up, i wanna see the results.
Well done mate, made up for you
Frayz, I know where you are coming from with the rubber front splitter (Frost King door seal/WRX look), but in my humble opinion I think that what 'psigeek' posted, the APR front splitter would look a tad better cosmetically and perhaps aerodynamically.

Ive given up on the splitter idea mate, i cant find anything that i really like so im leaving it as is for now.
Bloody hell, this car has come a long way since you got it. I've got nothing but praise to people like you who do things their selves.
But really what you going to do once it's all completed and you feel there's nothing more to do to it? Garage it and use it as track day only? Sell and maybe do a typeR project?? Thoughts are endless but you've done a wicked job with this one.
Looks ace.

If i was sensible i would of just stopped at a set of wheels and a 330bhp filter, pipe & map setup...
But we all know that would never of made me happy lol
the scoob had a lot to live up to though didn't it. cars like these (impreza, cossie, evo etc) are always in development for a large number of owners. i bought the ra with the intension of changing the wheels and exhaust and then leaving it. yeah right.
i've already got to the stage where it's being stripped out, big brakes, on my 3rd exhaust system, changed tmic, coil overs, changed arbs, drop links, alk, strut braces both upper and lower, filter and looking at going the 2.5 route at some point next year.
it'll never be as good as yours frayz as i don't have the spare funds or the time to dedicate to it (downside to being married and having kids
), but it will be entered into a hill climb/sprint or 2 next year.

With a 2.5 yours will be a proper little tool, dont you worry about that.
Yeah mine did have and still does have a huge cossie sized pair of shoes to fill. I loved my cossie in a completely different way to how i do tyhe impreza.... but hopefully i'll end up with a rather serious tool at the end of it all.

can't wait to get a 2.5 built and in it. aim is to get the ra as near to a tonne in weight as possible with a 2.5. should be interesting. already steers from the back out of the bends with what little power and no setup as it is

yours is already a serious tool mate. will just be uber serious tool when you're finished

Depends what you wanna do with the car road/track wise and ultimately what sort of power output you'll be looking at with regards to buying an exhaust.
I borght 4 before i got what i wanted lol.

oh mate, cant be arsed buying loads of exhausts.
Want it to breath better and maybe get bit more power. its quite important that its not stupid loud though. Had a Blitz nur spec R once on a 95 wrx and that was very very loud!!!
guess i'll have to have a go and see!

Well the ball is finally rolling...
I picked these little bits up tonight. I left the misc stuff such as the oil/water pumps etc etc at Zaks but here are my new internals ready to be checked cleaned measured and deburred.
I'll make a start next week probably, maybe this week if i get time.
Here we have brand spanking out of the wrapper a (new casting) EJ257 block that has been honed for my 99.5mm Wiseco forged pistons. These will be connected to a set of Carrillos finest A beam rods which in turn will be spinning on ACLs race series bearings.
This lot will be transfering their power to a brand new EJ257 STI crank (Should have arrived today but didnt... tut tut)
I'll leave you to enjoy a few crapy snaps if youre an engine pervert like me

LOl, for those that dont know im a prototype engine builder by trade...
and my stock block will probably be sold. Its a proper STI7 lump with sti forged pistons. Its done 40K and is as quiet as a mouse.
