Wow. This is just amazing.

I recently picked up a 2000 Turbo Estate, which blew a radiator hose and needed a new knock sensor the day after picking it up.. As a student I don't really have the funds for the car at the moment, I had to get some foglights and that cost me £60 and I felt the pinch..

But even starting on those little things makes me really excited to start doing things myself, oil changes, spark plugs and the like, even though it feels like I'm late to the game. It's really nice to see this, it makes me realise that I don't have to do everything in one go, and that taking the time to do it properly is what matters. Even with a lot of miles on it, a lot of bushings and bearings to replace, with limited know how, I hope one day to be able to do something like this myself!

Thanks a bunch for the inspiration!

Funnily enough was thinking exactly the same thing this morning..
Hope it's still on the go.

It's really tough keeping such a massive project on the straight and narrow. Plenty get broken up and un-finished when you're properly up to your neck in it.

It's a strange way to work, you would think once they have started on one customer's car, they would see that through to the end, rather than starting another one, seems like they are giving priority to racing customers over regular punters? Aren't you and i expect Frayz a bit pissed off about it?

pissed off at first but I'm over it now , mine slightly different as we moved the goal posts on the project a couple of times so mine has been in and out of the workshop a lot , I'm lucky and unlucky as its my good friend that builds them so mine has cost me next to nothing to build so far but it has also taken one of the longest lol
this has also given me extra time to buy parts I prob wouldn't of been able to buy if the project was a quick one so I try to look at the silver lining

iv also got a freshly built classic rally car , 530bhp STI hatchback and a VW camper with a Subaru turbo engine so iv had plenty to keep my mind off the other project while it plods along

ah ok i didn't realise he was a mate of yours and for next to no cost, you can't really complain i guess. Like Frayz i guess you are fortunate that you have other cars you can use and rely on, whilst it's being worked on. Not to sure i would be so happy, unless it was stated from the off that the car would be off the road for years

Congratulations Frayz. Great news.

If it's anything like me then that's all projects stopped for 18 years!
