Right,

Cat amoungst the pidgeons so to speak.

Why have there been so many rows on SI?
Is it because there are too many rules?

So many rows because of the ego's over there, the biggest spammer was a self opinionated mod, don't know if he came back after a small campaign and who really cares.

Which mod would that of been????
I had been there and left due to specious comments upon with certain mods gleaned a totally wrong opinion and caused an irreparable rift within the moderation team.
There was also the one rule for one and another for someone else issue.
If you were in the right clique you were able to post anyhing you wished and had "protection" for certain mods!!!
They now run it on a basis of what can i get out of this, not for the love and enjoyment of the cars and craic!

As a rule I comment rarely on the Internet. I prefer to hover around quietly. Since reading this thread I went for a look at the website in question and I'm struggling to understand a lot of the topics. Why, what, who made all the rules? It seems to be run entirely by a policeman and frankly stricter than the boy scouts. A prime example being a show being attended wherefore you must travel in convoy, meet at a strict timetable, arrive in colour co-ordination. If you arrive outside the scheduled timetable you will not be allowed entry to the sacred circle nor should you dare consider leaving early! Ive heard that there may be a firing squad if you dare spin a wheel on the grass.
Personally as an adult I'd prefer to live by my own rules and therefore have never really bothered going to "meets" or introduced myself to any of the Irish clubs.
I really enjoy my Subaru and always find your approached at motor-sport events by like-minded owners and honestly I prefer to meet real people face to face rather than making false friendships on the inter-web.
Sorry for dragging that on but its been stewing inside for quite a while.
Probably wont hear from me again for a further 12 months

I must have my Scooby Ireland rose tinted spectacles on - whats the story lads? What have I missed. I heard Jamez got a ban for winding up a moderator or somthing.

Love triangles- dare I ask what is that all about?

Whats the story with the fallout between the mods or whatever, feeling a bit stupid cos I am on there for a look around most nights and have caught none of it?

nope its because people like to go against the grain and from time to time contribute spam, rubbish and controversy more than anything scooby related tbh.

Very good read, shows an outsiders take on the over regimented way that SI is run by a clique who baulk at those who dare threaten to change anything or go against their tyranicial ways!!!
Hell's not hot enough for those who try to give a positive input thats not to their liking!!!

and how dare they put it in an "off-topic" section.
The worst spammers and those who contribute the most rubbish are still there and do as they please, and if warned, do nothing to rectify the situation and the whole thing is brushed over in relaton to them....
but decent members are driven off and infracted for nothing in comparison!

sounds like a fun place ....................... NOT

Funny how some of these moderators get off on the power trip the ability to bann and punish.

So apart from banning and punishing what else do they so seems like some of them have very little input to the website.
