Mostly big just cities so far - London, Southampton, Bristol, Oxford, etc.
Dunno, Scunny isn't exactly massive (75,000 population), and as said, saw myself sitting at the pc

Most of the north east coast of Scotland has been done which surprised me.
They only have half of Peterhead though, probably lost the will to live after spending the morning driving round..

Google - Making life easier for car theives everywhere.

Just had a look at mine and the there it is, my Impreza sat on the drive - thanks Google, thanks a f*cking million, advertise to the rest of Leeds that my car is sat there. I don't know about anyone else but I have a big enough problem as it is with thieves snooping round here, I don't need Google helping the rest of them.

All any thief in any area has to do is look on there now at certain areas round where they live, look see what's sat on the drives, they have street name, house number and what car to look for....And to top it off, they can even get the directions to the house from the same program!

We've seen a lot of threads about peoples house doors been kicked in for their keys etc, I'm very dubious about this new thing from Google.

The only time I could ever see it been helpful is if you are going to a street, say friends new house etc and want to know which actual house it is. This also works for the thieves as well though unfortunately.

All IMO of course...

apparently you can ask them to remove your house from the program. There are tools to do this on google street - so they say on newsnight!

does this have any useful appliocation, or it just Google showing off on their journey to conquer the modern world?

great for burglars though, they don't need to go out in the cold to suss out who to break in to anymore.

I'm amazed a non-statutory organisation has been allowed to get away with it, given the difficulties faced by Joe Public taking photos in the street.

This has been active (all pics taken and live here on Google UK) in NZ for some time and my wife was freaked when we were in Hamilton, New Zealand visiting her brother in his new house in Jnauary and I was able to walk around the neighbourhood knowing exactly where I was going

I'd been studying it for a few days before we flew out

Priceless
