I would imagine my spool up to be slightly better as I dual avcs.

Sorry mate, I thought you had bought a turbo based on your comments on the "other" thread?

Agreed about your addition of exhaust AVCS.

Nope not yet, might get both and see which one gives me the best results. The Blouch/SC is untested on a 2.0l twinscroll ,but has great reviews as a single scroll. And I've been made an offer I can't refuse on

The LM is more or less proven with results available and knowing the R&D that went into the turbo it kinda speaks for itself.

I would call Iain at Litchfield Imports, as I don't know what the retail price is on a complete unit. They are available NOW and have been for some time.... unfortunately the turbo page on the Litchfield website has not been updated yet. But Iain did say to me last week, that a whole website relaunch is around the corner..... still I would call them direct and ask.

Are 800cc injectors needed with the LM400 Billet or would 650cc be adequate?

550cc 'could be' - but marginal. Normally max at 390-420.

650cc will do it, while retaining good idle, and have some 'safe' headroom to boot.

You will find that 650cc injectors are fine with the LM400, that's what I have in my Spec C and the injectors are nowhere near 100% duty.

You can use 550's but you won't achieve the full potential of the turbo.

I've had mixed messages from everyone regarding injectors.........standard ones in my hatch spec c only good for 360bhp/370bhp?

Ones of the reasons being that different cams are used in the hatch and it doesn't breath as good as the previous JDM engine.

A new hatch spec c JDM against the hawk is noticeably slower after stage one mods.

Who told you that about the engine?

I would of thought the dual AVCS would make it breathe better. I know the inlet is supposed to be a bigger restriction on the Hatch JDM's over the previous ones.

It should have better emisions control and be more capable of being optimised throughout the rev range with Dual cam control, but that doesn't mean the peak flow rates and therefore breathing will be better. The TMIC is smaller for a start.

My VF37 has the injectors running at 85% max duty, so 'd expect the LM400 flow should max them out.

Yeh your right Shaun the dual AVCS is supposed to be there to compensate for the change in cams however after having the R205 mapped it via Tegsport/Engine mapper they struggled to get any more power out of the car and the standard map was quite good.

In comparison to the S204 it's a bit slouchy. The S204 feels much quicker and I remember that yellow RA-R being a lot quicker in standard form to however this could be down to the weight difference. With it being a similar set up as the S204/RA-R I expected better results however it was quite the opposite.

I had a play with my mate who owns my old TYPE RA SPEC C (with stage one)and you could tell it pulled a lot stronger than the R205 however. We also went to cadwell two years ago and Oulton park and I was in the RA-R which was marginally quicker than the TYPE RA.

In all honesty the previous gen spec c is probably the better car out the box however the new hatch does handle better out the box.

Does the change in the intercooler make that much of a difference??

Will be a fitting an original LM450-S60 to my brother's MY04 JDM blob soon, along with 800cc injectors and fmic. May map for methanol to see what the turbo is capable of

Could perform well in theory based on what it has already achieved on VPower.

Meth mix I would suggest getting on for 500bhp.

Hmm meths map......??

No no I have spent enough on the car already!!

But still...would be interesting to know. As it would only mean an adjustment to one of the maps.

I haven't posted an update on my LM480-equipped 2.5l build for a while, as I've been working through various minor issues.

My LM480 went back to Iain Litchfield to have a billet wheel fitted earlier this year, and today saw the final map tweaking of the Syvecs, giving some really rather pleasing results:

On Vpower, 1.7bar peak, holding 1.6bar: 504bhp and 502 ftlbs of torque
With 10% meth: 524 bhp and 523 ftlbs of torque.

On the road, in 6th, 1 bar arrives at 3100rpm, 1.6bar 3400rpm.

The graphs below show both VPower and Vpower+Meth results - the only "excuse" I'll make for them is that the spool on the meth run is not as good as we later saw, as the turbo was not as hot as it needed to be.

It's been a very long road to get here, with lots of ups and downs and problems to sort, but I can now confidently say that the billet LM480 is a mighty fine turbo - thank you Iain, and also thanks to everyone else who has been involved in both my build and in sorting the issues along the way

I will now leave it well alone and simply enjoy the car to the full - no more mods are needed, no more tweaks, not more nothing...and my wife wouldn't let me spend any more anyway

Glad to see that all is now well Tim, that is a very good result and I have no doubt that you are pleased as punch to be at the 'end line'.

These certainly are mighty fine turbos.... I've had three different specs from litchfields and they have ALL delivered as promised straight off the bat, with no pissing around or dramas.

Tim,
Glad it all came together in the end!

Good results. However are the LM series true twin scroll or just twin entry?

Just completed my LM450 Billet install and the results are in:

LM400 vs LM450 Billet (2ltr OEM Engine on VPower)
Name: dyno_lm450_3.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 92.6 KB

You can now have your cake and eat it! A smidge under 450bhp at the fly.

To be perfectly clear the LM450 Billet also includes a change to a Hybrid GT2 FMIC and induction kit (over and above the LM400 graph).

Comparison of acceleration figures through 4th gear
LM450 Billet
40 - 60mph = 2.5s
50 - 70mph = 2.0s
60 - 80mph = 1.9s
70 - 90mph = 2.1s
80 -100mph = 2.4s

LM400
40 - 60mph = 2.6s
50 - 70mph = 2.2s
60 - 80mph = 2.2s
70 - 90mph = 2.4s
80 -100mph = 2.8s

VF (OEM Twinscroll Turbo)
40 - 60mph = 2.6s
50 - 70mph = 2.5s
60 - 80mph = 2.6s
70 - 90mph = 2.9s
80 -100mph = 3.6s

This LM450 rocks on a 2ltr.

The full gory details can be seen here -> https://www.scoobynet.com/846290-sta...awkeye-22.html
