WOW, 9.3 was that on your haweye OE map? ... that is disgustingly rich ... no wonder they have such a bad rep for fuel consumption from the factory. My OE map was 10.5 at it's richest.

Threads like this are very informative for people like me (not the OP obviously..! ) who like to learn about real term issues. It's explained a lot of areas that I was finding confusing, thanks..

0.63 (I have to keep converting it as I've only ever worked in lambda)
Anything under about 0.70 and it hesitates like **** with decent ign and boost behind it.
Here's me thinking most ran about 0.71-0.73 in standard trim.
I suppose the manufactures have to take into account some will fit crappy intakes and free flowing exhausts without remapping.

Yeah, you can't blame them - they're only trying to cover their backs (and a whole world of pain in potential warranty repairs), knowing full well the typical buyer will drive the crap out of it. After all, it's hardly a Prius.

Lambda is much more useful - particular when swapping between fuels.
Totally agree. I know mine was down at that mark and have seen a few others that are also in the 9's. Perhaps Subaru knew we would mod them, but I wouldnt dream of modding without mapping. Any power mod that is worth doing needs mapping for.

Subaru, I'm sure, would have had one eye on this when deciding on a map i.e. build in a fair chunk of safety...
BTW Duncan, excellent diagnosis and good stuff in helping Semper get his sanity back.
