4/ click the profile you wish to edit, then from the next screen, select the alert you wish to change.
5/ now change to your preference the in and out of holster ringing and vibrating pattern and sound of the selected alert.

Its not as complex as that all makes it sound

Great! Done it, brillaint instructions.

Now I have another problem, sorry!

I only get two rings before it goes to voicemail, which often won't be long enough for me to answer. My tone is classic ringer, and the phone goes:

vibrate once...ring once...vibrate once...ring once...voice mail.

Can I get it to keep ringing/vibrating for longer before it goes to voice mail?

ps must say I'm liking this phone. I've noticed something strange, I switched off 3g to see how long the battery lasts and the internet browsing seems as fast as it was with 3g on. Whats the point of 3g then?

No worries mate, it was there all along you just needed to look harder,
I shall (or someone else will beat me to it) look for an answer to the other question for you now

Jesus and the penny drops lol.
Serious though mate thats what I was saying all along. Putting a 3G and a 2.75G device together and the internet speeds are so similar most of the time its not worth getting all excited about 3G

Oh and glad your liking it. If you like it early on, in general things can only get better the more comfortable you get.
PS, sort out that BB Messenger then you can ask questions without waiting so long for answers lol.

To extend the ringing time before your phone automatically goes to answerphone, do as follows

**61*901*11*[sec required]#send

increments of 5 sec - max 30secs = approx 6 rings.

My BB has gone back today. Hopefully my new bold battery will last longer than 6 hours and i will get 3G (not that it will make much difference in speed)

going to delay the os upgrade to .247 for a day or two to see if that makes a difference. don't think it should but hey that's what experimenting is all about.

@DS and Chop have you upgraded your OS to .247? I would be interested in hearing how your batteries fare.

Woohoo, nice one mate, get it on charging now, or send instruction home to lol.
I was gonna suggest the delay on the upgrade myself actually, just for a day or so. Like you, I cant see it being that either, but worth seeing for yourself.

lol IM me any time, if I am awake I will reply, if it wakes me I will reply at an equally unreasonable time days later lol.

I have not read anything negative about battery life on .247 anywhere on CB yet, but am still looking. I can only suggest it was stuck constantly sending and receiving data. Like I said, mine did that the once, and my battery went the exact same way.

The stocks icon is not great, defo not as good as the iphone one. Any idea where I can download a better app? Don't worry though, I'll look it up on that website anyway

Dont mark a beer up on it til you know the goods are there.
If so, then in saving for a keg please

I might have to give some of them a try just for the hell of it, see how they work etc

Splendid, thats a good start mate, glad its off on the right foot this time.
Like I say watch out for leaving wifi and bluetooth on if not in use.

Just thinking about it, when you uploaded the OS last time, did you remember to take out the network file that the instructions tell you to ?

Im sure you will get more than 7-8 hours. If your only a medium user, I would reckon you should easily get a day or 2 out of it.
With the amount of chatting I do, I still manage a couple of days no problem, browsing, uploading photos etc.

Hi,

I upgraded to .247 as soon as my replacement BB arrived. I was instucted by t-mobile to keep my old battery, however they delivered a whole new package. I kept the new battery for a rainy day and used the old one. I'm shocked at how the battery life has improved. I was getting no more than 24 hours now i'm upto 48. I'm a fairly heavy user so well impressed at the improvement.

It also seems a little swifter using the browser.

Chop

EDITED TO ADD - Make sure you delete the file it instructs you to when installing.

My browser was completely replaced on my OS upgrade and improved no end.

Fingers crossed this is the solution you were after.
I have just had my WiFi on (now I have sussed it lol) and been using it for over an hour and a half now, and used between 5-10%

Has anyone noticed a BB is like a Scooby... no matter what you do to it, there is always more to do to it, and you're never happy with what you have
