Noticed the other day if I drive in 2nd gear at 30mph and gently apply the brakes with my left foot i can almost touch the floor with the brake pedal .... :-(

I'm guessing this isn't right!!

I fitted EBC Greenstuff to my MY98 about 9 months ago and was initially very disappointed. The original discs were worn out and had to be changed but despite being worn felt fine. The new pads/discs took around 500 miles to fully bed-in but they weren't great after that. I still find that to get the pedal to firm up you need to brake hard first. What made the biggest difference was removing the anti-squeal shims completely. The brakes don't squeal and pedal feel is much more consistent. Might be worth trying this.

Now, I would say that that they are as good as before discs/pads were changed but no better.

Thanks DJB, will try that.

My only other option seems to be removing the master cylinder, inspecting it, and then either buying the refurb kit or replacing the whole thing. Also fitting braided hoses & 5.1 fluid... hopefully that would improve things!!

Cheers
