This is exactly what mine does sometimes, Andy Forrest highlighted it when remapped; I believe its an easy job on the 5 speed but real awkward on the 6.

Just thought I would add mt tuppence worth... even though its an old post.

Hi guys, I recently had the garage take the gearbox out to change a plastic geat inside that drives the speedo sensor (luckily I had it under warranty). Before it went in it also had a fault light on and I was getting it stalling at idle when coming to a stop, when they checked it out is was MAF sensor code, they just reset it and cleaned the MAF sensor, after that it continued to stall intermittently and the fault light can back on, after taking it back and them checking it again this time it said MAP sensor, they replaced that with new one from Subaru dealer. Then today I got another fault, when they checked it it said Neutral Switch Circuit low. They cleared it and it hasn't come back on yet. I looked in the engine bay at the wiring harness, there appears to be a spare plug near to the gearbox oil dip stick, not sure if they have forgot to plug something in or if its a spare for STI version or something? Its a 2004 WRX.

Getting Pi**ed off with taking it back, strange how its been 3 different fault codes though, any advice would be great.

So far, everyone changes NPS because of a CEL or they notice problems when remap is done. But did anyone check how sensor works after some miles?

I regulary log with delta dash, and I will need to change my third NPS. For me they last around 6-10k miles, then they start to lose signal in high gears when accelerating hard.
Does any one have the same expirience?
