we went to the appeal and whilst on holiday, we got loads of text messages of various other parents sayinth they had won. we were bottling it for a few days then the in laws rang and said we had got a letter saying we had won.
our arguements outweighed the council arguements and we won.
its a shame we had to go theu all of it but at least we got the right result

It's apparently quite rare to win an appeal (not that I would have told you that before you started appealing 
so you've done really well.We had a parents introduction evening last week and my son went in to meet his teacher and spent an hour in the classroom this week and, thankfully, he loved it. September's not that far away.
Well done - I'm feeling happy this afternoon now.
