lol what kind of answer do you expect? sprints have nothing to do with 1/4 mile runs its all about going round corners as quick as possible not going up a straight bit of track

fmp, its a shame, that no matter where you hold them, it will make it difficult for some people to get to.
We're trying to arrange round 4 away from elvington, but the way its fallen this year, means the rest are elvington based.
Don't be a whimp - its 4 hours for me also! get yourself up there!!

another thought on the classes,
I appreciate that it would be too much work to check every car but how about just checking the winners, if they know there car will be looked at a bit closer they would be less likely to cheat.
either way it will still be a great day

Simon, question for you. If we at 22b enter the club championship does that mean that a tuner car would be allowed in that category ? Or is that any tuner car must be in the Constructors championship ?
Reason being there are a mix of us, so if 22b enter as a club it may be made up of privateers like myself plus a couple of individual tuner cars

Any competitor (be it a constructor or a privateer) can join a club team
But, if a tuner would like to enter the championship as a tuner, its only right that they pay the extra to help subsidise all their customers / potential customers who are competing at the cheaper rate.
But is someone (who just happens to be a tuner) wants to enter as a privateer, that's totally fine, as long as they don't then try to profit financially / commercially from it, by plastering their company all over the car and / or info about their entry on their websites or anything associated with their company.
Basically, if someone is going to profit from it, it isn't fair for them to take up the subsidised privateer price. Otherwise, its totally fine.

Thanks for your reply, I agree with you to a point about tuners but I think you need to draw a line between advertising and advertising, if say 'X' tuner turns up to run in club team with names on cars etc I think that should be allowed (many of 'X' tuners custumers do also). I agree that they should not advertise on their own websites etc without paying a premium. It's worth remembering that many of the smaller tuners do this sort of thing for fun just like their customers, they are not companies with turnover in the millions.
Without these tuners that support the community in lots of ways then the entry list would be very small after all.
So just to be clear could you just clear up the point on company advertising on tuners cars, it would be a little silly to get them to cover then up for the events
I think we all would like to support this championship and it would be nice to see as many of the 'fast' cars as possible in my personal opinion.

I think at the end of the day, everyone just has to be sensible about it.
If there is a company with lots of branding all over their cars, and is clearly making quite decent publicity and promotion for their business, I just don't think any of us would feel too impressed with that company who would effectively be using up some of the subsidised entries reserved for privateers, in an attempt to profit out of those privateers (by them then seeing the branding and buying from them, and also by the promotion that everyone involved creates for their company).
By the same token, I am not going to ban people from putting branding on their cars, as many genuine privateers like to support their favourite tuner, which is something I think shoudl be supported.
But..
The only way to score Constructors Championship points or to use your company name in anything, is to enter as a constructor. But apart from that, its just a case of common sense I think.
We want this to be lots of fun (as you can see by the prices we're not trying to get rich off this, just earn a bit of a living, in return for the work we put in), and usually the only thing that stops it being good fun and working for everyone at a decent price is when some people try to take advantage, forcing us into a situation where either we can't afford to do the subsidised prices anymore, or just as bad, we have to ban EVERYONE from having branding on their car because you can't trust people to keep it sensible.
I hope this is reasonable.
