Simon, a question should I decide to enter, what category would my car fall into?

Curious.
Setting regulations for classification will be really difficult. Where do you draw the line? I don't envy you trying to decide on them.

can anyone let me know what it will cost me for all 5 rounds in terms of entry fees etc? Also whats the format for the day in terms of number of runs and practice etc? If it aint too much I might be up for this not sure Ill do v well but its the taking part right:P?

Micky Iv already dropped a mail to simon trying to get some clarification on standard and modified but have had no answer back as yet.If the price is right I will do the lot and dates are confirmed so I can get cover for the time off work the clocks ticking

a bit off topic. micky nice wrx, what is a version 1 wrx standard bhp, i didnt realise you could get that big a gain with an induction kit, exhaust, fmic, what is the z4 ecu?

Standard power is 240 IIRC. My car should have pobably let go ages ago, so I wouldnt advise following my route.
Z4 ecu is out of a 95 sti IIRC

PPP would be considered modified.
Originally, we were just planning to have a Pro class and a Privateer class. The standard class has been introduced just so that people who have basically standard cars can come along and enjoy the competition as well. It would, of course, be ideal if we could class out the middle bracket a bit better. But I don't know whether it will be possible.

You'd fall into the modified class, as long as you have a full interior and don't run full slicks.

You get theoretically unlimited runs (obviously the more people competiting, the less runs you'll get - but with ScoobyLive, and about 80 - 90 people competiting, there's easily enough time to do 10 - 15 runs, comfortably - should you really want to do that many), but only the first 5 (after your initial sighting run) count towards the results. The rest is all free testing.
When you compare this things like UK sprint events, where you'll end up pay at least as much, but usually much more, and get 2 runs, totalling abotu 4 miles.

Nice one I think ive prob got the green light from the mrs. Do you reckon I'll suffer much tyre wear from say 8-10 runs an event? I use yoko's at the mo. Not sure if would be worth me investing in aa second hand set of 17"'s and put 888's on em purelt for sprint/track work. Final 2 questions when do i need to pay the registration and if the mrs turns up for a few events would she be able to have a some runs if whe pays the 50 on the day so to speak. Not the end of the world if she cant but it is her car .

Is the classes similar to that of the MLR Evo sprint series?
Class 1; standard
class 2; mapped, 2ltr, stock turbo from any evo 1-10
class 3; aftermarket tubby, mapped 2ltr
class 4; stroker/over 2ltr..
This doesn't look well planned, driving coned circuits is hard, and if their are novices there etc etc....plus not much variation especially for those who live up Scotland or maybe down south.

JMO, its one thing that would get me back over into a scoob tbh, this type of event should have been done years ago for a forum this big.

In terms of tyres.. If you're pushing very hard, you can do quite a bit of tyre wear over a couple of events - some courses will be harder on tyres than others. The absolute utopia is to have a spare set of track wheels. That's what a lot of people do, but its really not 100% necessary.
On that subject, we're negotiating currently to arrange a tyre fitting service on site. So this might make things easier anyway.
Regarding the Mrs driving. That's no problem, although as you suggest, she will count as a totally new entry, and so you'll just need to pay the event entry fee for her - although she won't score championship points.

OK, this has convinced me.
A really important thing is going to be to allow the registered championship competitors to register their own sub-classes, and we'll award the points.
This will not happen immediately as there so much to get finished, but it will be a really valuable addition. Thanks guys!

I suppose turbo's can be looked at, but same as with an Evo, it could have forged internals and only the boost is gonna give it away what its running.
Tyres can make a hell of a difference, some running dunny's or semi-slicks can get amazing times with lell hp. Suspension setup too.

The best thing is to get involved and see how it goes. At the very least, you're going to have some seriously good fun competition... and we can add classes as we go if we all feel its necessary.
I'm still open to ideas, but I think for now, we should just run with it. The tyres and suspension are going to make the biggest difference on most of the courses, especially Monte Carlo, and Corsica layouts.

Hi, do you think that you could split it by doing
class 1: -11.5 sec 1/4 mile class
class 2: -12.5 sec 1/4 mile class
class 3: -13.5 sec 1/4 mile class
class 4: -14.5 sec 1/4 mile class
but i suppose people could run low boost on the 1/4 mile and full boost on handling. Its a hard one to split in to catogries but it still looks like it'll be fun

No mate. If you only want to do one event, it will cost about £65 (and probably about £75 for ScoobyLive) - but you won't score championship points.
If you want to take part in the actual championship, then £100 goes towards running the actual championship (this will become more clear when we get going), and you then get £15 off each event - and £25 off ScoobyLive / Scooby Shootout.

Dunk putting it into classes like that sounds ok and hopefully simon can sort it as for the big power lads have a look at what they propose for the handling circuits tight twisty etc it will come down to the driver and handling set up of the car its no good having big power if the turbo takes time to spool up in the twisties it will suit the lads with lesser power some of the big powered cars might get a suprise wake up call
for the average joe blog with an average level of tune like myself i`ll be happy enough just to participate
