England V West Indies thread

It's pretty good. I played the West Indies v England in Antigua yesterday on village cricket level. Got the Windies all out for 54 in their 1st innings, I scored 354 all out with Vaughan getting a double century and then bowled the Windies out again for 56. Took 10 wickets in the game with Harmison so nothing like real life
I love the bowling on it with how you can move the ball, do yorkers etc. I need to play it on the Test cricket level to see how difficult it really gets always played on the easier levels to get quicker games.
The teams aren't properly licensed so names are misspelt versions of the real players names but doesn't detract from a good game if you are really into your cricket.
I have it on the PS2 as well and the next gen version is much better.

Strauss is saying it'll be a result wicket at the ARG, like you say Chris this could be over before Tea days lol, seriously though 3 days could be a real possibility.
They reckon it will be full of pace and bounce, maybe another abandoned test on the cards, too dangerous, like that test a few years back !!
B20 - Whats BL like on the 360 ?? I had it on the PS2 and left in the UK with one of my mates, still waiting for a Cricket game on the PS3 Come on codemasters get a move on, Unsuprisingly enough it's known as Ricky Ponting over here. I might just have to go and buy a copy of that to satisfy my craving

The outfield's have always been poor out in the West Indies i can't really see that it make's much difference. Where the marking for the football pitch cut's through the wicket it's to far up to the bat to make a difference it's on a half volley length.

Suppose i just have to hope they release a new version and it comes out on the ps3, I played the ps2 game on the ps3 and it certainly boosts the graphics, but far too much as it starts pixelating.
I shouldn't have left my PS2 copy in the UK

I'm not sure about that decision to bat again instead of forcing the follow on despite the bowlers not being 100%. We need a 450 minimum lead before declaring and that will only leave 4 and a bit sessions at most to bowl them out. Really have to hope the wicket by the 5th day will be bouncing all over the place.

So 7 wickets to get through today and defend over 360 runs. Should be a breeze. Problem is our seam attack is so unpredictable and when you have to get a lead of 500 before declaring that says a lot about the captains confidence in the bowlers on this pitch. Looking forward to it as for me the last day is always the best day. Roll on 2pm.

B2Z, the thing is we should have declared an hour earlier yesterday. 450 should be more than enough to win the game on that pitch. If they knocked it off which would be a world first then fair play to them. Hope we don't regret that hour wasted.

Too right and that's what I was getting at by saying setting 500 just shows a distinct lack of faith in your team as a captain. I strongly believe the follow-on should have been enforced but we will see by the end of today whether the right choices were made.
As for Bob Willis having a dig at Flintoff and Pietersen for going to the IPL what a bitter old goat he is. Too bloody right they should go and make that money.

We needed to bat more positively set the declaration up and realise that without Lara in the side they didn't have a chance of chacing down 450 !!

Our negative batting in the second innings cost us having Anderson scratching around for an hour on the 4th day was a joke. Especially with Shah, K.P, Freddy and Prior to come.

Looks like Bopara will start at No6, Owais keeps his No3 slot and Swanny is fit to play and rumours abound that Harmison will be dropped and Khan will replace him, I'd like to see that !
Fresh blood, thats what we need, irrespective of whatever the pitch is doing I reckon we'll win this one purely because of the new blood.
Those players dropped need to look at themselves and pick up their game pronto, that includes Monty who has undoubted natural talent but hasn't taken it any further in the last 3 years.
All imo of course.
Off to watch a bit of SA vs Aus now, the continuation of the downfall as I like to tell my work colleagues , they're of the attitude, oh well we'll lose, fookin Aussies only sing when you're winning and cry like little kids when it starts going wrong, rather than getting behind team....
