RE: The 'rumoured' subaru recall.......Probably a recall to remove the drivers of cars that complain about tv programs, it's ruining subaru's reputation (the people complaining that is, not the program) as they are spending more time moaning about tv programs than driving their cars. There are some serious inferiority complexes out there.

Ooops.

Comments in correct thread now!

You know sometimes these programs are controlled by the advertisers, sometimes by the manufacturers, and sometimes it's just someone else's turn depending on who is pulling the strings.

Do any of you remember when the Fiat (thing can't remember the name) but looks like a squashed fog (it'll come to me) won car of the year on the ? Jeremy Clarkson show (can't remember the name of that either) - do you see where I'm coming from - can't remember... so how important is it... do you really need a bunch of TV peeps who wouldn't know their mini from their fiesta to tell you you're driving the best car on the planet? Don't think so, if you do then maybe you ARE driving the wrong car....

In fact there was an incident a couple of years ago when DRIVEN were filming Mini's at Santa Pod (those that were there will probably remember)... they couldn't get a camera angle cause there were so many Scoobs in every shot and DT's wife & I were off camera yelling - SUUUU BAAAAAA RUUUU every time they tried to film...

Passing fad - big pay off - you know - yeah the EvO's a great car tested one... but the Scoob has done the distance and is staying...

Yep I was there and remember that and saw Mike Brewer doing some interviews. The scoobs turned up in force hundreds in the field. I even have the pictures to prove it

Pen I dont think I got to meet you but I saw you driving round after a run I think. There were so many scooby peeps there it was crazy. I was in the midlands convoy about 15 of us .

Stef was funny when they told him to wash the car or they wont let him race .

Oops another post sorry Si

You must be kidding guys.In our country a very skilled driver tested both of them on a tarmac rally stage and on road.He chose impreza.Another very skilled driver tested them and said impreza manages to corner quicker but evo handles easier so ony fees better not faster.
Magazines:
TG best drivers car-STI7
4car-STI7
ECOTY-P1 did %89.3 3rd place-evo7 did %82.1 9th place
Car mag-STI7
Driven-EVO7
Autocar-EVO7
Sport Auto-Impreza my99 did 8.37(218hp)-evo6 gsr 8.25,RS 8.31(both 280 hp)
So if you look at magazines impreza is the superior one.I have also driven evo6 TME and evo6 RS and my scooby handled better but on straight line evos are quicker. My my99 has eibachs,s02s,prodrive geo. and strut brace.
Cheers

No mate, i had my Subaru beany hat on so she wont recognise that description.

She is not my type either, she talks too much bollox for my liking.

I couldn't believe the footage those guys took on the top of the col de turini either. They were stood right next to me filming, rather than catch McRae's spin they had Penny jumping up and down looking like a complete tit, very Max Power.

I read this board often but dont post much, however I cant understand why you cant except the result your car lost in this particular test, a scooby is a good car but it aint the fastest out there, I mean a standard uk turbo made around 150@wheels at the recent NAM rolling road day that isnt very fast. Most have mentioned the EVO`s service intervals, what about the Scoobys chocolate engine when the car is upgraded, it cant hold a stick to the EVO job or even as you call it an old outdated 2litre yb cosworth.

WHy dont you lot get a track day together with the EVO lads and settle it or get yourself down the pod?

I have to agree this is getting silly now it was a programme and they liked the EVO more big deal, as for the comments regarding getting together with the EVO boys we did this weekend with MELLOW and nothing passed us all day but we passed everything on the track including some very quick EVO's.

Stop worrying what driven said and enjoy your cars, who cares what other people think as log as your happy.

Daz.

Have to agree its just a programme, at the end of the day when you buy a scooby, you mod it and more than likly you will blow away evo's, i have plans for mine and getting it up to 380 bhp so ill beat evos until i face one moded more than mine. there is always a tampered car out there that is quicker.

Did you see "Dribble" last night testing Heavy versus Lager?

What a load of pish! Heavy slips down easier? Who the 4uck are they trying to kid????

I've been drinking Lager for years ~ originally XXXX and Tennents, but now I can afford it I like to spoil myslef with Stella which, I'm sure everyone on www.stellanet.co.uk would agree is far superior.

And on average Stella costs thruppence less per pint than Heavy....so which is better now EH???

And did you see the footage? Jenny Maggoty (allegedly an ex-UK pubcrawl champ) had visible greenies dangling out of her nostrils as she went to sup her ale....and in the next shot there had DEFO been some major nostril mining going on.

Well driven and owned a MY99 scoob Best version made for looks IMHO and never driven an Evo but it's looks don't appeal to me
I absolutely love what they done to the UK STI but hate, detest the Bug eyed lights IMHO. saying that I've just ordered one 4 weeks to go and you can't see the lights form the driving seat

Tony

Ps Driven did,t that Peannie Malortwat drive cars years ago
