Sorry but, as most Impreza drivers are probably aware, you are seen as being up your own ****. Take offence if you like but I am only putting down in words what lots of ppl think and what lots of ppl have said before in this board and elsewhere. If you cant handle it then change your car.
I have been on a couple of other boards today and a few of them are pointing to the HUGE thread and, as you guessed, are laughing heartily.
Adam (and a few others) have hit the nail on the head. Imprezas are NOT the best cars out there (careful you dont hit your heads when you faint) so get over it AND yourselves.
Bear in mind I am saying NOTHING new here. Impreza drivers ARE considered to be up their own ***** (anyone wanna argue otherwise ??) and I am merely bringing to your attention what is going on with the other boards.
Now we see how this is taken

Have to agree with Richie1, it's making us look pretty stupid debating a 'my car is better than yours' issue.
Who cares if an Evo is better than a Scooby, surely there are more important things in life ?
IMHO a Ferrari 360 is a better car than either of them, but we don't sit trying to justify this do we ?
Let it pass, go and get drunk, it's Friday, and it looks like the police might end up going on strike (even though it's illegal), so you might end up with a few days driving without fear of being nicked, Gatsos aside (how good is that!).
Who cares if an Evo is better than a Scooby, surely there are more important things in life ?

I love my scoob to bits but given £30k and the choice of the Scoob or the Evo I would go for the Evo. It may be dear to own but I love the way it looks and drives (and yes I have driven one). Although it is dearer I would not feel the need to make mods to make it look better (which is a personal thing anyway) since, much as I want to, I dont like the look of the current scooby. I am also in the position of not needing my car for everyday use (which the Scooby is probably better suited than the Evo) so for me the Evo would be my choice. Just INHO of course!

Someone rightly pointed out that the Evo Vs Imprezza Debate is like supporting your favourite football team.
No matter what arguments there are for or against, or what accolades your car(team) wins then you'll support them regardless(unless your'e a glory hunter)
Personally I'd love an Evo 7. I saw one the other day and I thought wow love one! However I can't cost justify a car that needs a service every 4.5K miles or only does a 150 miles to a tank.
People keep saying it's down to choice and indeed it is, if we all liked the same thing life would be really dull.
Which one is better? The answer is easy, the one you just bought.
The my car is better than yours attitude is everywhere. You find it on the Evo Forum, the lancer register, the RSOC forum, the VW forum, the Seat forum, and shock horror on this forum. While Evo owners crow that their car won a (in all honesty a dubious) roadtest then they forget that by doing this they are helping and partaking in the 'my car is better than yours(MCIBTY)' culture(witness the gloating in the thread above). People in glass houses etc etc.
It seems that nobody wants to be told that they did'nt buy the best and I think that's the heart of the MCIBTY syndrome.
I readily accept Evo's are stunning car's No question. With the right driver they will run rings around most other cars on the road. The same can be said of the Impreza. For me they are too expensive to buy and too expensive to run. For me, in my situation the STi is the better car. For you, in your situation maybe not. I'm happy in mu choice, you in yours so how about mutual appreciation of some of the greatest A-B cars ever made.
Both are stunning A-B cars and your average motorist would kill(and sometimes does
) to get a drive in one.

If you beleive the magazines you could get to mars in a scoob they are that great I've always wondered having drivin a Scoob and Std hot hatches "VTS" & "Fiesta RST" is the scoob worth all that money? Maybe people that payed 22k for one are upset the difference isnt really that great! ! And the differece in the running costs are very very big! im not dissing the scoob which is a great car but as soon as anyone critisies it you get this response! For a car with an interior from the 80's it gets pretty good reviews!

Sorry to put this back to the top but what strikes me as hilarious is that out of all the people who have posted on this thread 
, how many actually own either car tested ie AN EVO 7 or AN STI TYPE UK 
. Just because one TV programme thought that the EVO 7 was the better car of the latest offerings of both marques doesnt mean a thing if you dont own or plan to own either car, even then you should make your own mind up .
It also seems a lot of current EVO owners esp. 5,6 and 6.5 are not keen on the 7 and prefer to keep their current car. This also goes for the STI TUK, I had a look and couldnt see much point is swapping.
Just one last question - If Driven test the STI 8 and EVO 8 and prefers the STi 8 does that mean that the STi7 is instantly better than the EVO7 ?, think about it.

Hi guys, just thought i would pop accross 2 c wot all the fuss woz about having watched last nite!!!!
Oh dear i bet that hurt a little didnt it, neva mind the subaru IS STILL a good car but has found a better 1 in the EVO, but i guess u boys already knew that really if u were been honest. In fact while out 2day in my VI i got a wave from a scoob owner, out of respect probably. Cheers guys and have fun!!

if you had listened to what the test drivers said about the looks,one said the older cars looked better more square and a bit more aggressive the new one is a bit girlie,come on you must agree the new scooby looks pants,and why can't you take it on the chin the evo looks better is faster and less common fire proof jacket on now,wake up and smell the coffee,cossies are better than both cars start the slanging lol
