he needs to speak to a solicitor and the seller should get a very good one too as he's in deep sheet. Good luck to the buyer!

same happens to me... and for people who said i should have checked the car.... it starts after a few mins drive... and started after the test drive...

it goes bang, and after a while, the real thing starts... mine went bang as soon as i left his house, then i didnt pay attention. and it got worse at the next junction...

He likely knew how long he had on the test drive before it started making these noises. And i wouldnt be surprised if he took the exhaust OFF its hanger so that he could use that an an excuse if it did bang.

Neelesh what hell !!!!.... I've only just come on as i've been busy moving back to the student halls. I've come on after 2 days to find that you've been talking rubbish about me to every forum member on here and making thing up

If you gave me a chance to reply not just 2 hours... I do have a life you know and new years is a bloody busy time. I honestly didn't know about the diff and I thought it was the exhaust! When I took you for a test drive I asked you if you wanted to go for longer but YOUR THE ONE WHO SAID NO not me. I had nothing to hide. You're telling people I planned it all. And the reason I didn't let you drive is because legally you're not insured on the car. If you crash it then they won't be paying out because its on the logbook as a gl but is a wrx in person. But you're telling everyone im a lying thief who planned it all

I was honest in the sale... I fixed the car the best I could! I didn't hide anything. If I wanted to rip you off would I have changed the tyres, the suspension, the exhaust over? NO i wouldn't!
If I wanted to rip you off I would have sold you the car as is! There was nothing wrong with the diff when I had it. When I drove the car all three times with you were there bangs? NO there won't!
The car used to bang when I had the zeals fitted, that why I swapped the suspension over for you. The bangs stopped after that. There were only little noise coming from the exhaust because it was held on by wire as it had no hangers welded to it. I changed the exhaust but left the fairy liquid on the hangers, thats how it slipped off. Did I get under the car while we were talking and pull it off its hanger?

I would have happily paid out 50pounds to cover the diff costs as I felt bad about the whole thing. Thats why I started this thread. I honestly didn't know! But now your threatening to take me to court and sue me. What the Hell! you should have just rang me if I wasn't on here.. you have my number don't you!
I'll tell you now that I won't be giving you anything now, no one threatens me mate. If you want to take me to court then go ahead! Your only going to end up with the car being seized off you because its not actually insured is it. You might have insurance cover on the car but in truth its not insured and it car be taken away by the police if they find out.

I'll wait for your reply and see what you have to say. You have been speaking to me for the last 2 weeks man, on here and msn. You should know I'm not a con man. I a 19 year old student for crying out loud. Not a trader or con artist. I've been honest with you from day one... and all you can do is ruin my name on here to all the other members.

I'll be awaiting your reply. I'm going to be busy unpacking all my stuff and getting my room ready so I mite not be online for a while. I seriously can't believe you man, I thought you were a decent guy!

Easier to offer to, at the least, make a contribution.. I would agree that there are foolish posts on this thread (but SN is full of fools now, so you cant expect less), but as you had clearly posted before asking about your knocking diff, you cant claim to be as innocent as you are doing (and Id only read one of your four 'its not my fault' paragraphs!).

I understand where you're coming from and I will try and sort something out with 'underworld'... But the thing that i'm peeved about is the fact that hes made such a fuss on here I was only ever a phone call away if he wanted to talk to me. And then threatening to take me to court What the hell!
But i'm sure me and him can sort this out, i'm heading to bluewater in the next few weeks so i'll try and see him then.

To be fair to Underworld, he didnt start this topic asking for sympathy, you did.
You're also forgetting one VERY big fact and that is, you tried to hide the "broken diff" topic by deleting it.

Now that is dodgy, no matter what you say. I think you could easily put this topic to bed and redeem yourself by letting everyone know you will pay for the diff. Its that easy, then it all goes away and we'll put it down to a big misunderstanding.

I think out of decency, it would be a good idea to try and sort things amicibly, before it all gets too far out of hand. You must see his frustration, even more so from some of the info he has been given via this thread to lead him to believe you may have been less than honest.

Yes, there have been some silly comments(understandable or not) on this thread, but at the same time, from his pov, he now thinks you knowingly decieved him by the other thread, now edited, pointed out to him. To act like you knew nothing was 'up' will most likely not wash.

Be a good person, and work something out.

Has he made a fuss? He said little to start with. You made the fuss starting the thread which you did dishonestly, knowing that the diff was faulty. People found your post which sealed your guilt and then it kicked off!

Sort yourself out.

I deleted the thread because it wasn't the diff... when I changed the suspension the banging went. I took underworld for 2 different test drives. one which was about 25minutes long, where there was no banging at all!
And then I drove him about 2 miles to a private road so he could driver the car (I didn't let him drive it on normal roads as he had never driven a turbo and I wasn't about to let him practice in my car) then drove 2 miles back. Now there was no banging at all during this period, which i'm sure underworld can back up.
He is making out that the whole car is shaged.. now if that was true wouldn't he have been able to see this while I was driving. Wouldn't this big banging have come when I was driving? I drove easily around 10 miles with him in the car.

I will sort something out with underworld as it isn't right! and I am a decent person. I'm just waiting for him to surface now.

Well hopefully you will stand by that, to help out here. Tbh, I reserved my judgement if you like until the point the diff thread was unearthed. I still reserve my judgement, in terms of how this all pans out, and knowing to take nothing at face value.

What doesn't help you out in terms of how it looks on here, is you only edited the diff thread, after being alerted to it via pm, after this all kicked off about the problem with the car, not sooner as if you discovered it wasn't an issue, or by simply adding a post to say it turned out to be something else. You have to understand on a forum, people go by what they see, and if you were the buyer, I'm sure you'd even admit, that could seem suspect.

I don't know what the absolute truth is, only you and the buyer really know in truth what exactly has gone on, I hope you can both reach a solution that is fair.

That's because I totally forgot about it. I didn't even give it a seconds thought because the banging had gone...

I can see how it looks and looking back i can understand why people think what they do. But thats not what bothered me.. its the fact that he had tried to threaten me. Thats what got to me. He didn't even bother ringing me!

Just the buyer coming to hud's and having a polite chat with you would of been ample! not a lynch mob, lol

The thread got edited within 50 minutes of Underworld making his reply that the diff may be at fault.
It was a rather poor timing to start messing with threads

forgetting everything else for a minute like the edited problematic diff thread. you should pay for the diff and it would be the right thing to do. as for the threats to take you to court he is well within his rights to do that, so I wouldnt be so quick to start shouting him down. happy new year.

Well said ^^^

It seems like the only reason you've came back to fight your corner is because the guy has said he's thinking about taking legal action...

Can the two people on here try and sort this out offline please? Whatever actually went on, the whole situtation seems to have been inflamed somewhat by ill informed responses by some people, together with bbs judge/jury types.

I don't think SN is the place for this particular argument.

Thanks
