And it was something mad like a turbo'd MX5 behind you.

Yup, the kick plate needed very quick responses, even though you knew it was going to happen...

Looking forward to this. I'll also await the PM with details on the name and address for the cheque.

So what's our contingency if we don't get 18 people? Currently there are 14 confirmed (I think) so can we not still go with this number, even if it means raising the cost for each of us slightly (didn't the previous event run with just 12)?

Or is it the case that it will be called off if we don't get at least 18. In which case, we'll need a deadline for this decision. I don't mind paying a bit more if it means the day will actually go ahead.

Just in case anyone's looking in from other forums and wondering when this may be:

"OK I've spoken to Nanette at Rockingham and we've been pencilled in for the Saturday 28th Feb 2009 (nothing sooner as it has to co-inside with a track day and it'll likely be to dark at the end of the day)."

Jasonius,

Do you know if there are any noise limits? Aquatix (just in at #9 on the AM list) has queried it. If you're not sure, I'm happy to ring Rockingham tomorrow to confirm there isn't one for the skid day.

Cheers.

Sorry, must have missed the query about a noise limit..

There's a 103db limit, but to be honest I can't see that being a problem, as it's not like we're going to be doing WOT runs..

iirc 103db is quite loud and most circuits are 98db, so unless you're running something VERY loud then, as above, it shouldn't be an issue..

We can go with a lower number (obviously at a higher individual cost), but if we go with 14 then we might need to drop the kick plate, as there would be an uneven number for the three groups IYSWIM..? The kick plate is probably the least enjoyable, as it's over very quickly and is VERY difficult prevent a 360 in a scoob.. More time for the drifting..

CMS: great link to youtube, should inspire a few..

Another bump to try and get the last three places filled.

Jasonius, I'm not sure I "catch your drift" (boom-boom) about dropping the kick plate due to uneven numbers.

Also, as mentioned are we going to have a cut off date, as it's likely a few people need to book B&B's, time off work etc, plus we'll then have a final costing...?

Cheers for the good work,
Nige.

Speaking of noise - there wasn't a noise check of any car when I went.
You were lucky to get above 30 mph, but you could still be doing 7000 rpm at that speed in 3rd

We really need to confirm this one way or the other so what are you're thoughts about committing to it with the 15 we have at £133.33..?

Ideally it would be far better to have 16, as then we could spilt the am/pm sessions equally. We'd still have the problem of splitting each session into 3 'disciplines', hence my suggestion about dropping the kick plate (would then have 2 groups of 4 for both am & pm session. With uneven group numbers the larger groups would have less individual time IYSWIM..?

I'm quite happy paying a bit more if there are fewer of us. I would definitely rather it happened than not.

Same here.

Is there a specific need to split each session into groups? As I recall, disciplines are all set in the same(ish) area and not held at the same time, hence my question. Is the splitting a suggestion/on advice from Rockingham?

Also, would it help if my OH did the afternoon session as opposed to the morning session (hopefully we'd have time to grab lunch in between). As we are sharing the use of my car, it may be beneficial anyway. Just a bit of fluidity to help this along.

Also, could Aquatix (if you've registered here now) let the guys here know you're a definite attendee please?

Nige.
(In and out of contact for a few days ).

Nige, might take you up on the AM/PM offer..
Iirc there's a break for lunch anyhow, so you'd be fine..

Rockingham told me they run a rotation on the wet grip area, so whilst one group does drifting, another the plate and the 3rd the 'concentric?', that's presuming we do three things of course. Therefore, we'll have a set amount of time at each 'area' before rotating to the next. That's also why we have 2 pro drivers on hand..

Aquatix, can you please confirm your interest asap..

Need to confirm this tomorrow, BUT I'm not sure what to say about payment amount..? HELP..!

£133.33 is ok for me. I think that's the maximum I can really stretch to as I've to do this I've had to budget it for fuel etc. as well. I've tried hard to recruit friends but haven't been able to.

If we all paid in at the current rate of 15 (cheeky but will Rockingham come down again slightly?) and have it booked, there is nothing to stop a couple of others still joining. If we can get some more involved obviously they will pay and the rest of us could have some cash back maybe? It sounds long winded but it may get the numbers up with a final push with a committed date.

Quick one from me, 133 is fine.

Jasonius,
After having thought about it, we would really like to move my OH to the afternoon session. It'll save us messing about moving the seat around, jumping in and out of the car and will also give the car a break.

Sorry, had difficulty confirming an account here (maybe 'cos I'm not a scooby owner ? )

Can someone PM me the payment details ? Got some old socks to stuff in the tail pipes if they need things damped down to 103db

Looking at a possible B&B for Friday, but if not I may have to switch to the PM session if possible ? as its a long drive down at legal speeds (thanks to thieving scameras ....)

So that's down to £125 each, which is where I think we started but with fewer people which equals more goes per car
Is that a suitable point to stop, confirm to Rockingham that its a starter and to gather all the money in?

Just made the Paypal payment to you Jason, first time I've used it for anything other than Ebay but I think it worked OK.

Thanks again
