Certainly, the quicker we get the numbers the quicker we can finalize it and confirm the date with Rockingham etc..

Likewise, I know a few on bigpower who are members over here as well, most of them into sprints and trackdays in scoobs, who may be interested.

Am definitely interested myself, just not sure of am or pm yet.

Tony
We're 'penciled' in for Sat 28th Feb (as said in post #21.. lol).

As far as I'm aware there shouldn't be a problem for noise, as we're not going to be giving it full beans/WOT in the higher gears, unless you have something ridiculous that is..?

I'll check with Rockingham to be sure..

Nope - I last went using a 3" decat.
The loudest noise will be the driver as they squeal while uncontrollably spinning

I was wondering what the itinary for the day?

How long on the track will we get, How much time with an instructor. are passengers allowed at the track/in the car, will filming be permitted?

Unsuprisingly i have a long list of people who want to be in the car, or even on the sidelines watching.

Thanks
Chris

You can take people along and filming is permitted, or at least this was the case on previous events. I'll find out for definite..

Maybe Butty could give us an idea of the schedule on the last one he did..?

In the meantime I'll contact Rockingham to find out..

Cheers mate. Number of passengers in the car would be good. I.e. instructor +1,2,3, passengers? I assume the viewing area will be open for others. I.e. bring a car full but only have 1 in the car at a time.

An yeah, time on the track would be good

I went with the Alpina owners in 2007 and this thread best sums up what you do (top of page 2):
theALPINAregister.com :: View topic - Saturday, 17th November 2007 - New date for Wet Grip day

There were 12 cars in each session, so there was a group of 4 cars per activity.
The first pass is with the instructor as passenger in each car, telling you what to expect.
You are then left to get on with it for as many runs with the four cars in about 1 hour.
I probably had about 5+ goes on each activity, in between which I parked up and watched the rest of the group and took photos.

I didn't feel at all like I was hanging around for my time as turn-around is quite quick and watching other peoples skidding misfortunes makes time fly

There were no hard and fast rules about passenger/observer numbers, who was in the car with the driver or even who was the driver.

In 2007 there were no facilities by the skid track - it was a case of sitting in the car or braving the cold, so bring warm clothing and a flask.
Lunch was over at the restaurant.

Nick

We need to get 20 people definitely interested. We could do it with less, but the individual cost will go up. Basically the day costs £2500, hence 20x£125..

I'd like to have be able to confirm with Rockingham, one way or the other, no later than the 20th of this month, as I think that's only fair to them.

Do we know if there's been much interest from the SIDC/FOC, etc..?

Could do with a bit of a 'last' push to see if we can get the last 8 or so places provisionally booked. Can then get a definite confirmation from everyone, as a deposit will be required..

Nothing from SIDC but a possible one from 22B (I'll try and twist their arm next week).
Perhaps open it up other cars types - MLR etc?
