Motorstorm & WRC on Playstation 3 were games produced by the same guy responsible for classic flight sims like EF2000, TFX, Wargasm, F22 ADF, Total Air War, etc. In other words, some of the best flight sims of the late 80's and 90's
Hat's off to a a bloke called Martin Kenwright. Amazing body of work, eh ?

Oh and from the trailer Mitchell was a pilot in GRAW as HAWX is based around the GRAW serious so probably also the reference to "Ghost Leader". But prob a helping of Top Gun reminiscing as well.

Ten Minutes of Amiga nostalgia (100 games)
I'm not sure how many hours I wasted playing Geoff Crammonds F1GP

Wish he'd write a new one for the current gen consoles / pcs. Tired of the woeful efforts we are currently getting

ohh I used to do all the practice sessions as well, fine tuning the setup of the car for the full qualifying and then one for the 100% race distances.
Geoff Crammond is a legend for what he achieved on the Amiga with F1GP.

Indy 500 was my favourite racing sim on the Amiga.
I remember being amazed at the graphics when you crashed....and you even could burst your tyres from wear or over heating!!
I spent hours on this fine tuning the car, shaving hundreths of a second of lap times by adjusting downforce, tyre pressures, camber etc.

Papyrus IndyCar games on the PC were very good too.

Stunt Car Racer was I loved that youtube clip, I've got so many of those games still and had totally forgotten about Hunter with its 3d block polygons but at the time was amazing. I still haven't got the Amiga out the loft from the last Amiga thread we had on here

I saw the trailer for Tom Clancy's HAWX a few weeks ago and cannot wait untill its released. Used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator when I was a little lad but not so much anymore. Id rather be out there owning some *** with missiles rather than flying from place to place.

I wonder why they never did an update of Stunt Car Racer?, it was a really good concept. I still remember the sound of that engine in that game

My friend and I played this "linked", one on one, fricking hilarious, great fun.
The only other game we played with the link cable that I remember was Armour-geddon (from Psygnosis). The one where you built up your weapons and had the option of taking out tanks, fighters, bombers, helicopters etc. Another great game that I spent many an hour playing. I think the idea of the game was to develop the atomic bomb (hence the play on "Armageddon") wasn't it?

Veteran gamers rejoice! The revered Geoff Crammond and his Simergy team are back with Stunt Car Racer Pro - an update of his classic Amiga/ST title from fourteen years ago.
Described as "a radical evolution" of "one of the most innovative and influential driving games of all time", the news will definitely be exciting to gamers of a certain "vintage".
Crammond commented: "A sequel or upgrade to Stunt Car Racer has been suggested by various third parties over the years, but I could never agree to anything which didn't have my complete involvement at every level." Control freak, Geoff?.
"My commitment [read: total decade long obsession] to Formula One simulations over the past few years was very intensive, but now the time seems just about perfect to produce Stunt Car Racer Pro."
John Cook of Bad Management, Crammond's Business Manager, offered: "A new version of Stunt Car Racer is one of the most anticipated driving games ever. The game has exceptionally high brand recognition among opinion formers and we have a new take on multiplayer/Internet play which will make Stunt Car Racer Pro a genuine AAA title next year."
Details of the title are scant to say the least, with no details currently available on the target platforms, release date, or even publisher.
The situation was aided somewhat by Infogrames' puzzling decision to axe its Chipping Sodbury studio in the autumn of last year. Previous to Crammond's GP love-in, the man was responsible for all manner of cracking titles on various 8 and 16-bit platforms, including the oddball The Sentinel (plus the ignored sequel The Sentinel Returns from '98), Revs, and Aviator.
Article dated 2003 sadly.
