Question

The STi and WRX are aimed at different markets.. WRX = family turbo.. STi = Sports Version...

Its like saying the STi VI is what the MY'00 UK Turbo should have been...

Agreed. Hence my point that the P1 is now a good buy. It seems that those who sold in the first year took the worst hit and its now calmed down a bit.

And apologoes - I was referring to other posts in the last paragraph, its just I mentioned your name in the first one so I can see why you thought all 3 were directed at you!

Alex, "family turbo" ... that's not what we used to call the older car was it ? More like "performance car of the decade" and all that ? I agree it has turned into one, but it is not a logical evolution from the old model.

Looks aside, you expect a newer car having a bit more grunt, better diffs, 6 speed (as the competition is doing), things like that. Sure, there are good points like slightly better interior (I personally don't give a hoot about that) and better handling. But it's just not enough to keep the competition at bay. Hence my comment.

And then come out with a 2 door lightweight 320 bhp STi

P1fanatic - understood mate, appologises for the to-the-point reply.

EvilBurger - I see what you guys are saying, but as at least one S3 owner has said, there isn't much in it between the S3 and the new WRX performance wise, and the S3 et al is the market the WRX is aimed at.. the STi is aimed at the high(er) performance end of the market.. Out of the box the WRX may be ever so slightly down on power compared to the previous models, but it makes up for it in other ways (not the headlights ).

But does need 300+ Bhp.. which should be available soon in the form of a PPP if whats being said is true. which will be good
