Having a break from wearing the Dayton at the mo, since I saw caprice wearing one last week on celebrity 'come dine with me'. That puts puts the icing on the cake.. along with seeing Stan Colliemore wearing his, sitting on the next table to me in a resturant in Lichfield the other year.

The world and his wife (and every 'footballer') has a daytona now!

What this thread needs now is a picture of your tacky two tone Technique D'Avant Garde

Whoa, thats some timepiece, classic, retro, unpretentious and probably under a tenner.

Nearly as good as our MBNA Accurist watches, seven quid the pair off Ebay.

I do hanker however over an 60's Seamaster, the very plain one's with a leather strap.

I think it is because they are understated, I used to want a Tag but have gone right off them, along with any of th other big chunky types, they suit some people but not my kind of thing, there is a stunning 1957 Seamaster on there, looks new, I would be very wary of buying off Ebay though.

Some very nice watches on this thread.

Here's mine, not quite up to much of the standard on here, but not too shabby I'm sure you'll agree.

In all seriousness, I've always had a bit of a problem with watches, I love the look and feel of a Breitling or Rolex, but I couldn't bring myself to buy one. I don't know why though. To those who own them, please don't take this in a condescending way, because I mean this in the best possible way - as I say I love the watches - but to me they are a bit too showy.

It's a bit like designer clothes. I like to wear some labels, as the quality and feel is superior, but I hate logos on my chest etc. I wish they made a Rolex without the Rolex logo on it, or on the back.

If you are referring to the freakishly sized 5th carpal on my pic, thankfully, that's not actually my arm. In the interests of "comedy" I found it on Google.

If I was going to wear fake watches I'd make sure they were good ones at least.

Angrynorth:not quite a Rolex in terms of quality but a 'homage' with a real ETA movement and waterproof as well. No copyright infringement either.

Id suggest a Singapore Sandoz (over a Hong Kong Sandoz - no display backs and they all have saphire crystal).

An excellent quality homage to a Sub with a genuine Swiss ETA action. They say 'Swiss' on the dial too and can be imported to Switzerland: draw your own conclusions about that...

Seeing this thread again reminded me of something. In this pic below one is a Replica the other is a Genuine. Both work in the same "automatic" manner and the control buttons do the same thing on both. (Neither are mine)

One was £1700 and the other £150. Can you tell the difference? (you can click the pic for a bigger version) And even if you can, could the average passer by?

Seems the Chinese counterfeiters are churning out a decent product nowadays. I've seen most Brietlings, Pans etc all just as well copied. All seem to work in exactly the same way as the genuines. The serial numbers even match on the backs.
