Yup, will be picking it up on wednesday. Does mean I need to get rid of my Alfa 147 2ltr lusso though cos the wife doesn't understand the 'It was a bargain, thats why I had to get it'.
You'll be suprised what bargains you can get.....just search usual places ebay, pistonheads.

Been looking around a bit but it always costs money to change cars and our two cars are doing nothing wrong at the moment.
However I'm always scanning Autotrader and the like just in case.
Fine car the 330d - enjoy!

We just bought an 04 Mondeo Estate 2.0 TDi 130 Ghia for similar reasons to you.
It goes like stink and returns 50+mpg.
The boot is massive, you could get bikes, dog, everything inc kitchen sink in.
Ours has climate, cruise, auto headlights, 6 speed it cruises 90mph at about 2200revs, computer, leccy seats etc. Its also really nice to drive and is as comfy as comfortable thing, you can sit in it for hours unlike the scoob.
I dont think I would be buying much newer though because of the depreciation.
4x4's: I looked at these a few months ago and the top of my list was and still is the New Isuzu Rodeo Denver 2.5 crd (not the older 3.0). You could just about get one for your £11K a few months old. They are supposed to be the most frugal of all the 4x4's and the new crd engine is quite nippy by comparison. Also, you can have them PPP'd which is switchable. I think that Isuzu are the worlds biggest manufacturer of diesel engines - so they are not new to the 4x4 market.

That's very, very cheap. I'd say that should be around the 7k mark easy.

Ever heard the saying 'if it seems too good to be true..'?
Seriously: if there's anything even remotely dodgy about it - missing paperwork, car not available to view at the address on the V5, or a personal cheque involved at any stage in the transaction, then run a mile. Selling a car cheap because you need the money is one thing, but there is NO legitimate reason to sell it for much less than it's worth.

I certainly hope it's legit - just check it over thoroughly, do an HPI check and make sure the paperwork is in order, that's all.
If it's not been done recently, it might well be worth getting a specialist to replace the vacuum hoses and pressure converters that operate the EGR valve and engine mounts (which are variable-stiffness and vacuum operated). Clean the EGR valve too. The work is fairly inexpensive but not included as part of the regular service schedule, and can make a big difference to throttle response and fuel economy.
Also worth checking is whether the inlet manifold has ever been replaced; it has swirl flaps which open and close depending on engine revs and load, and these can snap off and get sucked into the engine. It's a well documented cause of engine failure on the 320D, but the 330D engine is effectively just a stretched 6cyl version of the same unit and is prone to the same failure.

How about a Civic? Think they are down in the 10k bracket now.
I run ours alongside my ST and it's a good all rounder. Loads of room, 485 litre boot compared to Golf 385 litre!!, magic rear seats which means you can get a MTB in the rear
2.2 and 140bhp, ours is std and plenty quick enough. 80mph it will do 55-57mpg on a decent run. Done 15k miles in ours now without any issues.
You are welcome to call over and have a drive in ours.
