In simple terms.. there are lots of ways that the ecu tries to protect the engine. If it hears det it will remove timing and add fuel. If it hears it regularly in a certain rpm/load cell range then it may learn to keep timing low there but gradually try and add timing back in til it reaches the point where it is happy. Ok thanks. Car has been mapped, but only very mildly as no mods on car.
4psi peak boost increase and maybe some timing tweaks to suit that, but low to mid is un touched pretty much, car just pulls a bit harder at 5-6800, then tails off like it did when completely standard.

ive just spoke to morrisons i told them im located in north london and where would be the nearest place to me, they told me wellingbourgh which is just over an hour from where i am so unfortunately ill be sticking to meth for now untill they start selling them near me.

Yep thats my problem> Im just outside north London in Herts and go to wellingborough for mine> although the torque increase is worth it

From what I gathered it makes similar power as meth I was only planning to use it as its more envoiramentely friendly than meth also safer to have laying around. I think ill just stick to meth until morrisons or shell start supplying around me.

I emailed Shell and they said they had no plans to introduce 100% E85, but they are adding bioethanol to all their fuels, 5% or so.

Yes.

20% mix costs virtually nothing as an octane booster (which in effect is what it is doing) and in my case gave around 10% extra power. I have mapped this mix on a few cars now and it has a similar impact on performance at more std modification levels than mine is.

I've been following this thread for a while, and would love to know if a few litres of bio in with a tank of super would lower emissions enough to get past the mot test?

Also a bit off topic i know, but i see on 22b that Zen have sold their Time attack car running bio ethanol.

yeah saw that subsidy getting slashed - another increase grrr.

Shell are def going to be going down the bioethanol route but it appears to be using as an octane booster like Tescos - I can live in hope though.

hope morrisons dont pull e85, i think they more they make it available the more it will get used and with a new morrisons being built just 4 miles away id no doubt run my impreza on the stuff as much as i could

E85 was pulled from Morrisons 2 weeks ago cars been off the road for 2 months so not happy!!

That's the way I'm thinking of going TBH, just haven't really got the space to store a 200l drum, using it as a table didn't amuse the mrs

It was very useful having Morrison's just up the road to use it straight from the pump! With Tesco less than a mile away it was very easy to fill up! Damn Morrison's !!

I bought it in 25l containers before I bit the bullet and bought a 200l barrel - They're easier to store and, in my opinon, easier to pour.
