Non-Turbo Scoobs - sad?
I'd love a new UK STi, but I'm not made of money. Does this make me sad? Well if you're a smug Porche or a Ferrari owner then from that perspective it might well be. It's all relative.
Still everyone's entitled to their opinion I suppose. It's just dull how often the conversation ends up at "my car's better than yours, you're sad mate". Such a waste of bandwidth.
Anyway, next thread please... <yawn>

And another thing, my car has a 'bright' button and I can switch my fog lights off. (Not just permanently on).
What do you drive J Bee? A turbo? Is that not just trying to pretend your a rally driver. Very Sad, whers your P1 or 22B.
I dont have any kids either, and could have had a turbo if I wanted. Only reasons I didnt is that I do a min of 300 miles a week, and am only 24, so insurance was gonna be 2k min. In a couple of years I WILL have a turbo, but wont look down my nose at sports.

Feel I must add my comments to this thread. All sport owners out there take no notice of the slack comments on the EVO forum. You are driving a superior handling car (esp. in the wet
) than any Golf or Teutonic 4 door lump. If I couldn't afford a Turbo or WRX I would go for a Sport or GX. Perhaps I am biased, but the reliability and pedigree that Subaru have built up in this country is up there with the best handling cars of all time.

NOW THAT'S SAD! You tell 'em Pond. To think I used to put the foglights on in my Dad's Audi 100 when he let me take it out. I thought it looked really cool! I was about erm... 17 I think. Then I grew up.
Sorry. Bad week.

I've already made my comments on the Evo forum - but I'll make some here too..
OK - If Subaru didn't have the reputation that it has gained over the years through rallying (Legacy and Impreza) I might not have even ventured into the dealers - BUT it wasn't the reputation that made me buy my sport, it was its abilities and drivability. I'm not vain enough to buy a car because of its image, I bought it 'cos it goes well, handles well, and makes me smile after I drive it. You should have seen the grin on my face after the first test drive... and if that makes me sad - as I said on the EVO forum - then make me up a flask of weak lemon drink 'cos I'm off to spend Saturday night on the platform at the railway station.

The thing these guys don't seem to get is that Scooby drivers buy the car for the driveability. Not the looks.
Fast, practical and beautiful. What more could I ask for....

How abt the Proton Wira?? It's actually the same as the Lancer which was the base for Evo 1-3.

To be honest i couldnt give a flying **** what those w@nkers think. I had a turbo but due to excessive mileage & buying a house i decided to swop it for a sport. I didnt think much about just bought one cos i thought it was the next best substitute. It looks the same & handles pretty much the same, standard to standard. The torque of it is excellent too & i always (maybe a false sense of security) but feel much safer when driving on snow, they seem much more easier to control than any other car
I am again back looking for a turbo, but you cant knock the sport, ive had 4-5yrs of hassle free driving and if a car can last that long without breaking down,well......

i'm only joking about the sport - i'm sure it's a great car and is recommended over a standard 'gti' hatch any day. i would love to own a wrx but can't afford to insure it, i wish it was cheaper to insure. i drive an FSO Bolognaise.
