Spurner - why?

seems ok to me.
Sunbaru 4wd - low gearing - means up to speed very quickly, but it is running out of puff higher up. - therefore a good time, but not a necessarily high top end.

Spurner,

what were you driving - go on - give us a clue!

Your 60' time is excellent, I think Stef managed to get his down to 1.6s!

Dingy has power, but his 60' time will be several minutes due to wheelspin, then he will travel back in time to finish with a touch of red shift

Well, any comments on this APS RT-spec package and the times achieved? Should I consider fitting this to my MY02 WRX?

Tim,

I didn't think my terminal speed was that high. Also there were problems with things getting knocked over at ther end of the strip, and making speeds (but not times) inaccurate.

I know what you mean though. I'm in 5th gear after about 200metres, and then just sit by the last 200metres while the V8's and rotaries would cruise past me. And if I did win I would be 10mph down on speed. Just as well I bought my car for acceleration then.

Trout,

I was driving a WRX, of course! Although it wasn't stock.

I'd love to run 1.6's 60' but need to change a few things. Like not running 17's with street tyres on 40psi. Any launches over 4500rpm is too much wheelspin. I think some semi-slicks would just about get me there.

Best UK car that I know of is 13.2secs with a terminal speed of 99.8mph. Power at the time approx 235bhp. Best 60' time from the same car is 1.53secs.
I'm looking forward to seeing what CK1 will do with circa 300bhp. The only problem is that I don't have a warranty anymore!!

Stef.
