Busy weekend on it this weekend. After getting quotes for powder coating I decided to make use of my spray gun and compressor instead. I had loads of paint and stuff left over so it was put to good use. I'm glad I didnt bother with powder coating now because the disadvantges of not having a ramp showed itself with some chipping of the painted items after having no option but to make use of the floor when remounting everything. I'm still happy with the results though with regard to what it's cost.

Good stuff
All being well by the time i collect at the end of the month the block would have been strengthened, modified for 14mm head Studs, honed for the Cosworth Pistons and aquablasted.
I've already paid for the pistons. This month I'll pay for the work on the block and full set of ACL bearings. Next month will see the purchase of the rods themselves. I can then build the short motor and free up some space in my garage.
After the short motor is built it will be time to focus on the heads. Full port and polish new stainless valves, double springs and retainers one peice buckets replaced or machined where necassary and some Cosworth S2 Cams.
The aim is to get the long block completed over the winter. Then sort transmission out which will be a six speed of some flavour. Once that's done it's Solaris time which Paul will be mapping. I'm hoping the car will be ready for late spring early summer.
The short term plan is to finish painting the cross members and get the suspension and brakes back on the car. Then i'll be doing a dummy build to get positioning of the front mount turbo, wastegate and exhaust right. Not particularly looking forward to that

Body work was already primed just never painted. Cleaned it all off scotched it and then used stonechip paint before going over it with base and then lacquer.
The subframes and arms were all sanded, primed, sanded again and then painted. Again this was with base coat and lacquer.
Almost finished the rear tonight.
Both sides done. Just ARB and and rear brakes to fit.

Car is taking shape now matey. Looking forward to seeing this one finished !!
Simon, it's a shame that the car in no longer purple, especially after Daz had bought himself and Betty (his dog) exclusive outfits from S.P.P. (Subaru Pimp Promotions).
Betty... bless.
